Le Moulin de Gauty, hotel in Roquefort-sur-Soulzon

This remodeled watermill is set in the village of Saint-Jean-et-Saint-Paul, in Les Grands Causses Regional Natural Park. It features an outdoor swimming pool in a large garden.

While I did like Moulin de Gauty, my husband wasn't that excited about it, we had originally booked it for 2 nights, but cut that down to 1 night. This didn't necessarily mean that we didn't like the place, it was rather that we couldn't find a place to eat and we had to drive Miles to get gas for our rental car. But I do think that in the tourist season (we were there in early May), more places are open to eat, though it's important to get gas on the way! I liked the owner, the breakfast was great ( sheeps milk yogurt and more!), I was offered a glass or more of wine, we got to walk around and visit the goats and the old mill was interesting. The area is So Interesting and beautiful -- windy country roads, medieval villages/castles, Roquefort cheese, nice people -- I've been to France before but never to Aveyron and I think this is my favorite area of France now!
