Breakfast was fine, pleasant eating outside and all our requests ( mugs of tea ) were provided by a chatty, happy host. Our shared table gave us an opportunity to chat with other guests. Also, because of a phone call from our host the night before our stay, we were able to book an evening meal for when we arrived. This meal was very good.

We liked the location in a small village with local amenities. The free parking outside the hotel was very welcome. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and warm and the bed comfortable and the bedding was of a high quality. The breakfast was good value, we have paid a lot more for a similar breakfast in other hotels. It felt as though the hotel had recently had a re-fit recently as everywhere was in good decorative order, with none of the usual scrapes and marks on the paintwork.
