Wortley Hall Sheffield, hotel in Bradfield

Set in peaceful 26 acres of grounds, just 6 miles from the historic market town of Penistone, Wortley Hall offers 3-star hotel accommodations as well as a restaurant, a bar, an on-site fitness center,...

This is a truly atmospheric Hotel, and I do not mean, shabby, or uncared-for! It is a real manner, with labyrinthine passages, and gorgeous public rooms, the staff are young, overworked and uniformly excellent the young man who served me my dinner and the ladies at breakfast Deserve special, mention and as the lady on the front desk. The room I stayed in had been very recently refurbished and was very smart, indeed, fitted out in various shades of grey with a grey slate bathroom. It blended very harmoniously with the rest of the property. For dinner, I tried a steak, a pedestrian choice, but when that is usually very good at determining as a first glance, the overall quality of the restaurant. I actually dined in the bar of the fire brigade union! And I had one of the finest ribeyes that I have encountered anywhere in the last 20 years. Yes, really! Cooked exactly as ordered served with all the normal trimmings a 10 ounce ribeye of the first quality for £26. I really cannot praise this Hotel enough, it has been through some difficult times and has risen up gloriously, the icing on the cake was a first class breakfast with all you can imagine one offer, including a massive choice of fruits and a cooked breakfast choice that would rival hotels at three times the price And now, to the price, a double room for one person, and the full breakfast described above set me back with my Booking.com, genius benefits, the princely sum of £61. Astonishing. If you were anywhere near Sheffield, Barnsley and it’s environs deficit This beautiful property, spend a little time in the lovely grounds and reflect that it is still possible to enjoy this level of quality without spending a king ransom. Congratulations to everyone concerned, I shall return!

Brocco On The Park Boutique Hotel, hotel in Bradfield

Located in Sheffield, 5.1 miles from FlyDSA Arena, Brocco On The Park Boutique Hotel has accommodations with a shared lounge, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

Never stayed at a hotel that was so hospitable. Hotel staff constantly took care of us and anything we needed. They really treated us like family and brought us homemade pastries every morning that just made our day. We really appreciated our fridge was stocked with water and milk every day. The restaurant's food is amazing and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The rooms on the top floor were perfect for our stay and had beautiful views of Sheffield. The staff was so helpful at helping me get around town and give me ideas on kid friendly activities around town. Love the location of the hotel as well. You're in walking distance to the Botanical Gardens and Endcliffe Park as well as the downtown boutique shops. Matthew recommended us to visit Graves Animal Park and that was only a 15 minute drive and perfect place for children.

Great little village with lovely village green. Two pubs ,one a five min drive up very steep hill. The old schoolrooms tearooms very nice and the recently opened bistro looks great but didn’t get chance to try it. Damflask reservoir on the outskirts of the village well worth walk round.

While the property is in the Bradfield area, it is actually in the tranquil village of Dungworth which is a is true haven away from Sheffield and invites the most pleasurable, though hilly, walks. The walk around the Damflask Reservoir was particularly good and took in Low and High Bradfield - both of which are very attractive. The property could not have been better equipped and was thoroughly clean in every way - a joy to stay in!

Gorgeous. so much to offer, so many beautiful walks, could quite easily have stayed much longer. considering moving up there in later life. locals all so friendly too! Loved walking to all of the reservoirs, Dale Dike, Strines, Damflask and Agden. Stanage edge is nearby along with Padley gorge, Ladybower reservoir and Win Hill, Rivelin Valley trail and Wyming brook also. Bradfield on foot or by car is quite easy to get around. We cooked for ourselves however here were plenty of places to go out and eat not too far. We did get dinner from the chip shop one night, really really nice.

High Bradfield has an excellent Pub in a very picturesque village with beautiful views from the outside seating area. The Church is interesting and the village provides an excellent walking centre. Low Bradfield has a Pub and an excellent tea house. There are two reservoirs you can walk around, or for the more energetic the Moors provide a bracing work-out!

"PADLEY FARM" is in the village of DUNGWORTH, three miles from the picturesque village of BRADFIELD that does get very busy. Parking there can be a problem. "THE PLOUGH" in Bradfield is a great pub with a large car-park and lots of outdoor tables. If you don't want to eat and drink in a pub, then go to "THE SCHOOLROOMS" - a brilliant cafe with a car-park and outside tables. After eating and/or drinking in Low Bradfield, take a walk beside DAMFLASK RESERVOIR (or around it if you need a really long walk).

Sadly children ran up and down wooden stairs which we kept hearing. Also guest doors kept slamming which we kept hearing also. People standing outside window talking loudly on mobile phones annoying - bad place to put table & chairs by bedroom window! Accommodation was lovely- just noise from guests was disappointing.
