Overlooking the shore of Busta Voe, on mainland Shetland, Busta House is a lovely old building with en suite bedrooms, large garden and superb local food.

This was my second stay here. Loved it the first time, loved it the second time. The food is exceptionally good, the staff is excellent, and the whole place feels warm and inviting. It was close to Esha Ness, and it also had trees and beautiful grounds.

Our experience at the Brae Hotel in Shetland has been terrific!! The staff is outstanding and truly have made a difference.
Starting with the breakfast and dinner staff of Scott and Curtis who immediately made us feel right at home with their upbeat demeanor, friendly service, music, and personal touch.
The location was perfect for our adventures to Yell and Unst, Hillswick and Eshaness, Lerwick and Scalloway, Sumburgh and St. Ninians just for starters. The hotel desk staff was also outstanding Ilsa, David, Clair, Tracie were all extremely helpful sharing their Shetland Islands experiences and recommendations.
They helped make each day a new and exciting experience.
Although the hotel is older, it is maintained at a high level.
The food is outstanding, both breakfast and dinner.
They offer laundry service at a very reasonable rate.
We definitely recommend the Brae Hotel and will return here in the future.
In the heart of Shetland, St Magnus Bay Hotel is set in beautiful, tranquil surroundings. It was once frequented by W. H. Auden and Christopher Isherwood, the poet and playwright.

The staff was wonderful - courteous, friendly, kind and super helpful whenever we needed anything. They seemed to make every effort to be sure that their guests are well taken care of and have an enjoyable stay. Our room was spotlessly clean and our bed was extremely comfortable. Housekeeping was attentive as well. The breakfast was delicious and abundant. The restaurant was also excellent, with attentive service and delicious food. The location is in a gorgeous and magical part of Shetland. I look forward to returning on our next trip to Shetland!

The food was fantastic. Great alternative to eating out all the time. We ate breakfasts and suppers at the hotel, and ate our lunches in Lerwick.

Great access to Muckle Roe, must see destination; lovely home cooking with farm fresh ingrediends (the lamb is a must); generous size, renovated room with modern bathroom; reliable regular bus service to other places in Shetland for those with backpacks, the isolation from town is a bonus, so relaxing; helpful and friendly service

A nice clean hotel situated on the waterside.
A nice clean hotel situated on the waterside. Very good staff who operated well under covid restrictions. The food was good and we enjoyed all our meals. Not gourmet food but good. Excellent selection of whiskies to try and a well balanced wine list.

I liked the location of the hotel and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.
The hotel had just had new boilers fitted so it was very warm and stifling in the bedroom.
The dining room could benefit from more lighting as it was quite dark

The hotel its self does need a little TLC but that didn't take away the good time we had there. As I've said before I would gladly recommend it although now I have thought about it there is no lift to the rooms which are upstairs, I think that would be the only down side for any one who had mobility problems. The hotel is well used by the locals which says a lot when the locals eat out there too.
Busta house is a lovely building, historic, quirky and well presented. We’d had a strange introduction to Shetland Hotels with our previous hotel in Lerwick but Busta House more than made up for it. This was achieved by the constant good humour, charm and efficiency of all the staff we met. They even managed to fulfil a busy Friday night service with aplomb.
Our dog was made welcome and enjoyed snoofling about the garden and snoozing in the lovely bedroom.
The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, they go out of their way to make sure everything is to customer satisfaction. This hotel is a real gem and in a fabulous location with a lovely garden. The food is scrummy, waiters & waitresses very attentive. We loved relaxing in the Long Room after dinner. If we’re ever in Shetland again we’ll definitely stay again!
Always a pleasure staying at Busta. Staff are always first class, food excellent, rooms clean and comfortable and wonderfully quiet at night. Such a relief from city centre hotels. Would love to have more time to study the history of the site. Will make every effort to have a holiday visit rather than just work.
The service and staff, especially Bradley (!) was exceptional. it was a beautiful, historical property, conveniently located to do day trips around the whole of Shetland. The food was great: the breakfast selection was very good: varied, fresh, and generous portions. The bar menu was top notch.
The staff makes this hotel, they are the best that I have come across, willing to help and nothing is too much trouble.
The location was quiet and the hotel has a large garden (although prone to midges at times - not the hotel staff's problem though just nature).
This hotel was lovely. The service was fantastic, friendly, and helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was very good. Breakfast the next morning was also great! Also the bathtub was enormous!
Very quiet and comfortable hotel. The bed was very comfortable. It is a very well
run and all staff unfailingly attentive and polite. The food was excellent.
