Well I actually didn't get to stay inside the hotel this time as reception/check in closed at 2200 hrs and despite making contact and having a dialogue via email to say I wouldn't make this time arrangements were not put in place to allow check as promised. I spent the night in the car park. I am speaking to customer services later today so I will update further.

My room was on the first floor (note there don't seem to be any lifts, if you have mobility issues). It had been cleaned, and reasonably attractive. Some good points: Bath had a head rest, so very relaxing. TV and wifi worked well. Nice big desk and lots of sockets. Helpful staff. Large range of takeaway restaurants opposite hotel, and in-house menu looks good. Very close to rail station.

With freshly cooked food and a selection of real ales, The Star Inn dates back to the 18th century.

The room was wonderful. the bed was perfect for someone who had traveled all the way from the United States. I had the best sleep. Facilaties were great. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom etc. Kerry was such a sweetheart. Lovey chatty lady! House was immaculate!
