Rhydspence, hotel in Hergest

A 14th century country house located on the Welsh border of the Wye Valley, the Rhydspence is a former drovers inn surrounded by the countryside views.

Everything!!! From a very warm welcome from the owners, who upgraded our stay before we had even arrived, to the superb breakfast. The building was warm and inviting, the room beautifully clean and cosy. The slightly sloping floor added some jollity to the stay. The open fire in the bar was lovely and added to the cosy atmosphere. The bar was busy with locals who were enjoying having a well stocked and friendly pub nearby. We will definitely be going back at the earliest opportunity.

The Red Lion Country Inn, B&B, Llew Coch B&B, hotel in Hergest

The Red Lion Country Inn, B&B, Llew Coch B&B is a bed and breakfast offering 4 rooms with attached bathroom on the first floor and 1 room with attached bathroom on the ground floor.

The booking was made as a spur of the moment outing and everything was Excellent with a capital E ! Far exceeded my expectation when I booked. Warm and friendly welcome, in a beautiful and peaceful location. Our room had a massive bath and a shower and plenty of space for two. Evening meal was good, steak cooked to my liking, and the quality of the cellarwork is reflected in the quality of the beer served. Breakfast was served in a seperate dining room and was enough that I did not need to eat again until the evening - cereal, full breakfast, toast, Juice, Coffee and yogurt. The price I paid was less than I expected, far less. This is outstanding quality at a very affordable price.

awful room in Lower house farm should not be let!

awful room in Lower house farm should not be let! Full of owners clothes and personal belongings. No locks on doors felt insecure and vulnerable for ourselves and our belongings. Dirty, worn bathroom facilities. Be careful where you choose to stay.

The B&B is in the countryside.

The B&B is in the countryside. The roads are single lane, but not busy, and care has to be taken driving them. The views are stunning. If you are seeking a very peaceful, dog (pet) friendly retreat. This B&B is a great option. It's also close to Hay-on-Wye

Wonderful walking country up on Hergest Ridge with views...

Wonderful walking country up on Hergest Ridge with views over the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons to the south, the Radnorshire Beacon to the west and north to the Shropshire Hills from up on top; not to mention all the way to the Malverns in the east. Down in the valley, there is the great little pub at Gladestry which, with new owners, is turning out some impressive food and the welcome was just great. There is also The Swan in Huntingdon, a classic old pub run by a lovely lady who serves everything in the bottle (No food, other than maybe a packet of crisps :-)). And Kington with it’s pubs and shops and the amazing gardens of Hergest Croft is just 3 miles away.
