Staff were friendly throughout our stay and were helpful with any questions. Room was clean and tidy, refreshed for the 2nd night.
We had a meal in the restaurant with friends and the service and food was lovely.
We would definitely book again if looking to stay within this area again 🙂

Cottage was absolutely lovely, host were superb added a cake and wine for a special birthday which was gratefully appreciated. One of the party had an accident in the cottage, staff where fab about it letting us know where the first aid stuff was and allowing us to stay a little later so we could get sorted.

A great example of a northern mill town but not the main...
A great example of a northern mill town but not the main reason for visiting this picturesque Yorkshire town. Famed for the BBC show "Last of the Summer Wine", it's a mecca for anyone who's funny bone has been tickled by this warm comedy from the 70's through to the early part of the 2000's. Modern hostelries abound, some great exhibitions, cafes and pubs used extensively in the TV series all combined with the beauty of the Yorkshire landscape featured throughout the escapades of the characters of the show. We'll be back in the summer to further explore the scenic beauty and further enjoy the views these three old men brought to life on our TV screens.PaulUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

If you are old school and remember last of the summer wine. You need to visit. This is a fantastic place to visit so relaxing. We intend to revisit. If you are interested in live performing acts music, this is a must. Enjoy!

Holmfirth is a great place to visit. Home of “Last of the summer wine” of course but also a great venue to visit is The Picturedrome for a Northern Soul music gig which was fantastic. Some lovely bars and eateries plus some quirky shops as well. Defo a place to visit for the weekend.

Holmfirth is a typical small village but with loads of character. Some quaint shops and plenty of places to eat/drink. Obviously loads of references to last of the summer wine. Loads of great walks and the picture house has loads of great entertainment. We ate at harveys. Good food and cooked fresh. Lovely quaint place. Quite a bit of traffic around the centre. Sid's cafe small in size but homely and yummy food. Last of the summer wine places to visit where TV series made. Fantastic variety of independent pubs, restaurants and cafes, for both day and night. Most places are dog friendly. Holmfirth does not just feel like a tourist town, but a genuinely welcoming, thriving town for all and the neighbouring villages and country pubs are well worth exploring. P

Right next to the picturedrome. Overlooking a beautiful river which sounds so peaceful at night time. The room was clean and large, good tea making facilities and nice touch with chocolate bar and biscuits. Bathroom was clean and nice toiletries. Breakfast was good, I opted for a continental which consisted of croissant, jam, granola, fruit and yogurt all very nice. Good parking on site.

She left a personalised booklet giving advice on local places that were good and those that were not so. The cottage was really nice and clean and full of character with quirky-shaped rooms and corridors. We came down to see bands that were playing at the Picturedome, which was an easy 2-minute walk, as were a number of restaurants for after. Sara, the lady who owns Winwood Apartment exceeded in the finer details such as, leaving complimentary drinks, coffee pods milk, condiments, basically you only need your clothes. There were shower products including deodorants and perfume. I could go on all day listing everything. Fantastic. I hope to return with my dogs to stay in the d.f Apartment 🥰
