Belvedere, hotel in Lagg

Belvedere Guest House offer comfortable, relaxed accommodations from an elevated position. Enjoy a wonderful view overlooking Brodick Bay towards Goat Fell.

I had a wonderful stay at Belvedere Guest House. Allan is exceptionally kind and generous and he made me feel right at home straight away. He is also an incredible chef -- the "full vegetarian breakfast" he prepared for me was outstanding. My room was enormous compared to other rooms I've stayed in in the UK and felt like my own little private apartment. I slept very soundly on the comfy bed (the mattress was relatively soft with springs, which is what suits my body best), the views from the living room and dining room were stunning, the shower was like a light rainfall, and there was plenty of light in the room, which I very much appreciated when I read and wrote. It was a very short and lovely walk from Belvedere Guest House to the main street of Brodick, which itself runs right along the water -- I thoroughly enjoyed walking there. It's clear that Allan and his family love their home and take great care of it. Thank you for making me feel at home and for providing me with an excellent stay, Allan!

Strathwhillan House, hotel in Lagg

Strathwhillan House is located half a mile from the center of Brodick and just 5 minutes' walk from the ferry terminal.

Great location—very close to the ferry and the main shops in Brodick but a bit removed from it all. Felt very safe. Breakfast was pretty good and had various choices. Overall my room was pretty quiet. WiFi worked great. Significantly less expensive than a lot of other options on Arran.

The Lagg, hotel in Lagg

With a scenic woodland location on the beautiful Isle of Arran, The Lagg is a traditional, family-run hotel. Free on-site parking is available.

We LOVED our stay here. The decor in the room is beautiful and has all modern amenities you would need. Opening the French doors to the sound if the stream several feet from the room and sitting in the peacefulness of the garden. The evening meal was excellent. We also enjoyed soup and sausage rolls in the afternoon as our meal was booked for later. A walk on the trail to the beach was so beautiful. The scenery was breathtaking. This hotel is under new management and so the reviews from 2023 are accurate. It is a marvelous hotel and we would definitely revisit. The owners are so friendly and helpful and this hotel is obviously something they're passionate about. P.s. the bed and bedding ha e to be the best we've ever experienced in hotels and B&B 🙂

Wee Silverburn, hotel in Lagg

Wee Silverburn is located in Whiting Bay, just 11 miles from Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park and 20 miles from Machrie Moor Standing Stones.

I liked the location and also the spaciousness of the property. I loved the attention given to the variety of books and games within the property. The kitchen was very well stocked with a lot of thought given into all the little extras included. I really liked the little nook in the dining room with very comfy chairs for relaxing. The beds were also very comfortable.

So glad I took the time to read recent reviews.

So glad I took the time to read recent reviews. We almost stayed in Brodick closer to the ferry. This hotel is a beautiful place to stay. The owners are so friendly, the food is excellent, the gardens are tranquil and you feel a sense of tranquility. There is a bar and restaurant which is nice depending on your time of arrival. A stream goes through the gardens and just sitting outside is so peaceful. There is a trail nearby which takes you down to a remote Bea h with beautiful scenery. Well worth a visit. I would say for travelers going by car to take the coastal road and not the Ross road.

The owners must make it clear that their restaurant no longer exists prior to making a non refundable booking It is also unacceptable that it took 2 days to return my phone call It should be marketed as a simple B&B rather than a hotel.

Owners and staff at Lagg very helpful and friendly. The best part about our trip was the very hot water after a day's cycling followed by a dram by the fire and the superb cooking, using freshest, local ingredients.

Peaceful setting, not alot there, you are soon through it. Lagg distillery is just down the road where they have tours, an excellent coffee lounge and a bistro where we had an excellent meal at a pop up event, which they have regularly through the year. Staff cannot do enough for you.

From check in to check out we felt the customer service was superb even though the hotel was full and very busy, the owners couldn’t do enough for you, with smiles on their faces. Our rooms were comfortable, decorated lovely and the bathrooms were huge! Dinner was amazing, delicious and well presented. Breakfast was great, the fruit was fresh and tasty as was the fully cooked full Scottish, we loved the quiet but beautiful location with the flowing river and bridge! And the roaring fire in the lounge was lovely. We will definitely visit again.

Quite a remote little valley, so very quiet. The hotel is quite dated in terms of decor (think seventies or eighties) but it is a charming old inn. Food was great and staff pleasant and helpful. It rained torrentially the one night I was there but the gardens looked like they would be gorgeous to sit in. There is a bus stop right outside so very handy if using public transport to get around the island.

The owners were fantastic - friendly and helpful well beyond the normal. The Lagg is set in beautiful grounds and a great job has been done appropriately decorating & furnishing this historic coaching inn. It is also home to the Velo Cafe which is well worth a visit. We enjoyed the excellent bar and lounge with the log fires and the high standard of decor and fittings in a hotel that is over 200 years old. Breakfast items were cooked to order and the room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The owners were very welcoming and all in all it was a very pleasant stay.

The owners are especially nice and attentive. We got the date wrong on our end, but they went out of their way to get us in a room. If you have any reason to be on Isle of Arran, seriously consider staying here for a pleasant, relaxing time.
