Reception and booking in was very pleasant and efficient.

Reception and booking in was very pleasant and efficient. The room was warm. The bar and evening meal staff were great. The evening meals were really good and they had a nice beer on draught. The shower was too hot or cold; no in-between. The walls are paper thin, meaning I could hear phone calls, taps and toilet visits of next door rooms during the night. Windows and curtains are basic, so I heard people walking past from early morning. Breakfast was lovely.

We met family here for my Mum's 80th Birthday.

We met family here for my Mum's 80th Birthday. We brought our own cake which the lovely staff brought out and sang !! We had a lovely meal really well looked after. Our Breakfast the following morning was a buffet so we could take just what we wanted. Everywhere was very clean. All the staff from the lady on reception to the lovely waitresses and bar staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend Lakeside to anyone and would stay again.

Pidley cum Fenton was very difficult to find - mainly because it is barely a village. The one pub (The Mad Cat), serves a good choice of reasonably priced well cooked food with friendly service. We were in Pidley for a Christening. Unless you have a specific reason to visit, it may not be worth the effort of finding it, though the B&B we stayed at was excellent.
