Set in a converted cluster of fisherman’s houses along Portree Harbor the hotel offers plenty of character and quirks. There are 17 bedrooms with attached bathroom with all expected facilities.

The restaurant was full but they got is a table for dinner in the bar as we couldn't find another place for dinner.
The breakfast options were good.

The check-in process was fast and the staff were helpful.
The restaurant offers a sumptuous and soul satisfying lamb dish.
The property has a charm that only a heritage property can provide.
The bed was surprisingly comfortable to sleep in

I only spent one night in Portree so my judgement is limited. Even before the tourist season started, it was quite crowded. I can’t imagine what it must be like at the height of the season. Skye is lovely but expensive compared to other locations in Scotland.

Skyelight Apartment is at a great location, very near to Portree town centre, maybe 1-minute walk. Nicely furnished, warm and cozy. Note though there is no washing machine. Otherwise, a wonderful accommodation.

Very touristy not quite what we’d expected restaurants we sampled not as good as on the highlands NC500 so for us I wouldn’t do Skye in favour of the Highlands I’d spend longer on the NC500 west side.

We loved Rockview.
We loved Rockview. The view of the harbor from our room was spectacular. We could easily walk
To the town of Portree to eat and shop! Location was perfect to sightsee . The owners were so helpful and nice! Would highly recommend Rockview!
Fantastic location, right in the centre of Portree near the harbour and bars/restaurants. The apartment was clean and comfortable, great to have use of the washing machine (and powder left for us) as we had a few mucky items from our day trips. Spacious double bedroom, corner sofa which pulls out into a large sofa bed. It was perfect for the dogs too as we didn't want to take them to a hotel. It's usually alot more expensive to find dog friendly accommodation but the price for this apartment was very reasonable.
Lovely friendly welcome awaited us at the Creagory in Portree. The room was lovely at the back of the house, very quiet and spotless.
Great selection for breakfast and tasty!! Selection offered would put some large hotels to shame.
Slept like a log both nights we stayed bed very comfy but must have been that fresh Highland air. We were at an music festival in the centre of Portree and the Creagory was ideally placed as only ten minute walk from the front.
Would definitely recommend and stay again.
The Rosedale hotel is a quaint hotel a perfect location. The views we had from our room and the restaurant were second to none; you’d be hard pushed to find a better spot in Portree. Hotel feels slightly short of space in certain areas, i.e., corridors and shower, however the room itself was spacious with all essential amenities. The shower was warm and powerful. Breakfast and dinner were better than average. Thank you for a great stay.
The hotel was outstanding.
When arrived, the room seems quite small. Talking to reception they provided a larger room.
The facilities were amazing.
The reception team was very attentive and polite. Hope the guy who was his 3rd day goes well, he was really kind and polite.
The breakfast was incredible. Highly recommended.
Planing to visit again the isle of Skye soon and this will be the place where we are going to stay again.
Out of all of our beautiful stays on our trip to Scotland, this one was our favorite. We had a delicious breakfast delivered to our room each morning and enjoyed our tea with a view right from our room. Our hosts were so kind and offered history and suggestions on what to do and where to eat in the area. The walk into town was short and scenic! We loved meeting Alex & Alan's dog Oatie too! Thanks for a wonderful stay in Portree.
Perfect location, on the south approach to Portree.
Easy walk into main town (about 1 mile).
Room was listed as 'small' but it was bigger than some hotels weve stayed in.
The staff were really friendly and we had breakfast exactly as we wanted - and as much as we could eat.
Parking was spacious and off street.
Skye is an awesome place (the sun was shining when we stayed) - would definitely recommend.
Great location in Portree. All the staff were really nice. They hold back tables in the restaurant for hotel guests so if the restaurant is booked online, just email the hotel, as I did, and they got us a reservation. Food was excellent as was the service. Rooms were spacious and cozy. Its an old hotel with all the charm but has upgraded bathrooms, etc. Good choice all around.
We were very lucky to book this hotel at short notice after our previous booking at another hotel was cancelled 2 days before our holiday due to COVID related staff shortages. We struck lucky, the Calendonian was a lot cheaper, in a better location in Portree centre and very comfortable. Very friendly helpful staff, superb breakfast and clean recently refurbished room.
Wonderful family cottage near Portree; surrounded by nature. The room is superb. Everything well thought out in the smallest details. Homemade and well made breakfast. The hostess Georgia was extremely friendly and helpful. There would not be a better option. Place to park in the house and free of charge. Superior to many 4 and 5 star hotels I have stayed in Scotland.
Fantastic location, centrally located in the town of Portree and a great location to visit the points of interest all over the Isle of Skye. Nice to have the Nespresso machine. Thanks to our host to promptly responding to our questions. The host provided a detailed guide to the area prior to arriving which was very informative and helpful
This hotel is in a good position overlooking the bay, with Portree shops, bars, restaurants and the harbor all in comfortable walking distance. Our rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were perfectly cooked and filling. There is ample parking. The friendliness and attention to detail from our hosts was excellent
The hotel is located on a hill slope in the outskirts of Portree, with a nice view. The natural surroundings and the quiet atmosphere are an advantage. The hotel provides cabin accomodation, the cabins are small but new and well equipped.
Lovely room with a view over the harbour. No.7.
Really good breakfast, not buffet but there are options. All the covid regulations followed.
All staff very friendly and helpful.
We would return to this hotel if we ever returned to Skye.
Location was great with access to all parts of northern Skye and quick trips into Portree. Wonderful views of the harbour and quiet (little to no road noise despite being close the the main road into Portree).
Quirkiness of buildings. Location in Skye. Private car park and paid parking available. We were very lucky to park in private car park belonging to Hotel.
Great staff. Obliging, very helpful.
It was such a great experience being on a farm for two days! The view was breathtaking. Easy in and out of Portree center. What a great way to be immersed in the beauty of the Isle of Skye.
excellent location and beautiful views. the hotel is located very centrally on isle of skye and the breakfast / dinner view is hard to beat. the staff in particular are delightful
Free breakfast so delicious and the service is very nice and staff all warm and helpful. Location is perfect! Would definitely choose this hotel again next time visiting Portree.
