Wentvale, hotel in South Milford

Wentvale enjoys a location in Knottingley, 14 miles from Cusworth Hall and 17 miles from Eco-Power Stadium.

This B&B offered a great location not far from Leeds but outside the bustle of the city. It's also right next to Pontefract and it's associated sites. The owners were super friendly and provided several new ideas for things to see in the area that I would not have otherwise known about.

The Barn, hotel in South Milford

The Barn provides rooms in Monk Fryston. Featuring a shared lounge, the 4-star guest house has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. At the guest house, all rooms include a wardrobe.

Absolutely wonderful room. There was temperature control in the room, which was perfect coming back from a day at Leeds festival and needing to be warmed through. The selection of refreshments in the room was varied and fantastic. Bathroom modern, clean and relaxing. The bed was the best bed we've ever slept in out of every hotel or B&B we've used in the past. The owner went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, including allowing early check in, we also arrived back very late and everything was fine. I was visually exhausted in the morning, and didn't choose to have breakfast - in lieu of breakfast, the owner gave me some lucozade and painkillers, that kindness and personal touch absolutely made my day. They were needed!! My partner also said the bacon sandwich was the best he'd ever had and "this is the best place I've ever stayed".

Unfortunatly there was a problem with the water supply as it was coming out rusty, after the hotel drained off all the hot water in the tank to get it to run clear which took about an hour it meant we then had to wait for the water to warm up enough to have a shower so half the evening was waisted.

    The staff were fantastic.

The staff were fantastic. After an initial mix up with the booking which was due to the automated booking service the staff went above and beyond to not only rectify it but to make it better including a free taxi too and from a wedding party we we're going too. The location itself isn't the best due to the scrap/ haulage yard right behind the building but if its just a room for a night or two or a base for exploring the surrounding area then the staff more than make up for that. All in all a good value base camp with great staff.

    Amazing service from the staff

Amazing service from the staff Rooms were freezing and tiny heating doesn’t work so you are given a little oil heater which doesn’t make a difference Electric kept tripping in our room so we complained and they moved us rooms No telephone in any rooms so if you need to contact reception you have to walk there (not being lazy, it’s a good 5 minute walk)

Didn't see much of South Milford as we were visiting relatives based in Tadcaster. We were around for the blowing up of the Ferrybridge power station chimneys ... and visited Lotherton Hall - lots of birds and a few animals to see - good for youngsters

We paid very little for a small double room and later upgraded to a large double with bath. Happy that we did as we had a large bedroom with a very large refurbished bathroom. Great stay where we hope to visit again very soon as it is oerfectly situated next to the A1 although we heard no noise. Cannot wait to use their lovely restaurant again the staff were the best.

We liked the location, the grounds at the rear, dog friendly, the staff were fantastic and went out of their way to help accommodate our request to eat outside on the patio. The duty manager during our stay was Gavin, who made us feel at ease, he was very nice, very happy and like all members of staff, made us feel very welcome. We will always use this hotel whenever we are in this part of England. We have used others in the area, but this one is excellent. Great service, great food, and large rooms with very comfortable beds.

The larger room was a good idea as we had plenty of room to relax for the evening. The staff we very efficient, helpful & friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant menu was good, maybe something without chips would make a good addition. Breakfast had a good buffet selection and the cooked breakfasts were tasty using local produce. We would stay at this hotel again when visiting family in the local area.

The property could be a fantastic hotel under the right management. The impression we got was there was too many chiefs and not enough Indians. The rooms are lovely and big but need care and attention to cleaning. The buffet breakfast needs attention all dried up and eggs looked like rubber flying saucers. The staff were really friendly but need educating on customer service and standards.

Easy access hotel, perfect location for where we were travelling. Staff super helpful. Food in restaurant was as good as I've had anywhere and all cooked fresh to order. Same with breakfast which had a varied menu. Nothing too much trouble at all..air con in the room made for a very comfortable night's sleep. Couldn't hear the traffic from the road either. Would def stay again.

The hotel is very well situated and has a pleasant feel in the public areas. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The bar was reasonably priced and there was soft music playing giving a relaxed atmosphere. The breakfasts were very good and cooked really well, although some items were running out on our second day.

Close to Leeds, far enough from the motorway so not too loud. Hotel staff was really lovely and they have decorated our room with balloons as it was my 4 years old birthday trip.
