Staff very welcoming and room exceptional. Comfortable bed, immaculate room, lovely little touches and great food. Would highly recommend
The beautiful, half-timbered Bell is across the street from Tewkesbury Abbey. It has a friendly bar and restaurant and cozy bedrooms with attached bathroom, some offering views of the Abbey.

The room was lovely, the location is great. The staff were great and extremely helpful as on booking in we were told that our room was up the stairs which is difficult due one of us having a rollator, which would have been difficult to carry up the stairs. I had requested a ground floor room which they sorted out.
Breakfast was also great and the staff are very helpful if there is something you don't want they don't put it on.

That the proprietors have thought of everything. E. G one can keep car in the free car park until 1.00 p.m after check out, and there was a notice saying so.
The room (Room 1) is oh so cosy...lots of space, all the heaters you would ever need... very chinzy... perfectly adequate shower.
Location is spectacular... directly opposite the Abbey and the stunning John Moore museum.
Delightful breakfast served by delightful people.
Oh, and certificates of the sale of the property from (I think) the 16th century. Sl
All in all, a terrific find! Friendly, cosy and returnable to.

Nice town but very little to do I visited on a Friday and at night the pubs and restaurants were all empty at 10pm. I would advise going to Gloucester if you are looking for somewhere to visit in this area

Tewkesbury is a beautiful area with some lovely old towns round about to visit. The Malvern hills are great for walking and the views from up on the top are absolutely stunning all around. Plenty of historic buildings and some lovely old pubs and good for shopping too.

The Tudor House provided a splendid stay, in a smart but relaxed environment - 100 Percent on every level although my review when published by Booking.com somehow looked like I had not scored 100 percent in the categories!
May I say that I am looking forward to having an opertunity to plan a stay there again. Without exception, the team members could have not be more welcoming or accommodating. I THANK YOU ALL on behalf of myself and Solomon :)

No review to write as they cancelled my booking saying that there was a problem with the room. A friend was also looking to book and noticed that they were advertising rooms available. This was during Cheltenham so I suspect that they cancelled as they thought they could get more money for the room!
There was no compassion from them, as it was last minute I could only find a Travel Lodge

There are a lot of independent shops and antique emporiums to browse around as well as some High Street names. Lots of cafes to sample too. There were some interesting restaurants but far too many were Indian for the size of town. Great if you love Indian food but not so good if you are looking for variety. The river is a pretty attraction and being able to walk along its banks is lovely. Boat trips are available during the summer. The marina is very attractive and has some lovely pubs in which to pass some relaxing time. The Black Bear pub is well worth a visit and has been fully refurbished recently (2024).

The wide variation of carpets upstairs looked like an Arab Souk. Parking was adequate at the back of the premises. Great atmosphere as a commercial pub near a famous Racecourse (Cheltenham) but the staff training towards visiting guests needs quite a bit of work !!
Everyone of the staff were polite and friendly. The cleanliness was faultless. The location in the middle of Tewkesbury was perfect. The garden area was very well kept. There is a no dog policy everywhere inside and outside. Garden area only in use until 10pm so no problem for anyone wanting an early night. Service is amazing. Use the Wetherspoons app. Thanks for a great stay. Highly recommended hotel.
This is a gorgeous hotel in a great location. The staff were absolutely wonderful--very friendly and accommodating, and were even kind enough to serve us at the bar when we came in late after work. :-) The high street location is convenient to many shops, pubs and restaurants, and there is even a small car park, which was a pleasant surprise for hotel in such a central town location.
We were attending the annual medieval festival in Tewkesbury. This little house was perfectly located, close to town centre bus stops and a comfortable walk from the festival site, as well as the Abbey. The house is well fitted out with much care, it's compact and comfortable. It helped make our stay very enjoyable.
excellent location for exploring the Tewkesbury area. The couple who own it have a great eye for furnishings as the whole property has a touch of class about it. Easy access and process for leaving. would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area. We will definitely use this property again.
We loved that it is a historic building, and our room was above a recently renovated medieval dining hall. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable, The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we were pleased to be given maid service unlike many hotels these days. Parking is free and on-site.
Excellent place. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Shower is amazing. Its a very easy flat walk into town centre ( took us 11 minutes). There is a pub about 5 minutes walk if you want something closer. We even watched a film on Netflix before retiring for the evening. Highly recommended
Good for exploring Tewkesbury - within walking distance of the town centre. The house is clean and well organised, especially in the kitchen and laundry. It was great to have a private courtyard area in which to enjoy our morning coffee, and everything was clean, neat and tidy.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Best hotel breakfast we have ever had.
Nice bar area with good food
A great swimming pool and jacuzzi, also has a steam room and sauna all included in the room price.
Good location 7 minutes to Tewkesbury
Food was good as that is all we were able to sample as they had double booked our room s o had to find other accomodation for the night. Manager was helpful in arranging this although the hotel he found for us was terrible
Great character hotel, centrally located in Tewkesbury, that was clean and functional and exceptional value for money. Great communication from the host Brian and particularly enjoyed the freshly made breakfast.
Conveniently situated on the high street, very interesting quiet and comfortable with excellent friendly staff. The hotel is warm and welcoming, our room was spacious and well furnished with a large double bed.
The place was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Nice breakfast and a large breakfast menu. The scrambled egg looked lovely but we opted for a full English. A great location for Tewkesbury town centre.
Location excellent. Ideal for Tewkesbury high street. Alum house is fully equipped. Has everything you could possibly need. Ideal for a couple bit small for family however double bed with sofa bed.
Very easy to get to and from Cheltenham races, half the price of Cheltenham town hotels and very close to Tewkesbury town which has a variety of good restaurants.
