Crown Hotel, hotel in Walberswick

Located on Southwold’s High Street, in the county of Suffolk, the Crown Hotel offers en suite accommodations, free Wi-Fi, a restaurant and a bar.

The hotel was in a great location in Southwold which is a lovely, unspoilt coastal Suffolk town. The staff were really friendly, chatty and helpful. Apart from the first evening where we enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast, we ate out to enjoy other pubs and restaurants in Southwold, but the breakfasts were excellent.

We had very comfortable beds and the room was warm. They provided a nice dog bed, treats and towel and our dog was made welcome.

The Sail Loft, hotel in Walberswick

Located in Southwold, a 7-minute walk from Southwold Pier Beach, The Sail Loft provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

Well decorated room with comfortable bed. Good variety of teas, coffees and bathroom toiletries. Easy to walk into Southwold and harbour (10mins).  Good location for exploring Southwold and the beach. Good communication as I was contacted to let me know that the facilities were reduced due to flood and how to use key safe access.

Very pretty buildings and two pubs serving good food.

Very pretty buildings and two pubs serving good food. A bit disconcerting not having any pavements to walk on especially after a night in one of the pubs and although not a majorly busy road enough traffic to make you aware of this ie wouldn’t have liked pushing a pushchair or being in a wheelchair/mobility scooter. Lovely rowboat ferry service to Southwold (real bonus) nice tea room and a good Co-Op opened generous hours.

lovely but stoney beach, very picturesque village, two pubs a cafe and beach shops, but limited facilities facilities and access, so Walberswick retains its charm. Foot-ferry across the river to Southwold harbour for fish and chips and estuary cruises, a twenty minute walk along a footpath to Southwold for shops and more full on tourist facilities.

Our favourite place was the footpath to Blythburgh along the old railway. It was good for birdwatching, overlooking a large reedbed which included a hide and the woodland and surrounding fields. There were very few proper footpaths around the area which if walking to village could be a problem and there are lots of restricted parking.

    Charming, low key village.

Charming, low key village. Very friendly locals, lovely gift shop and tea room. We loved the nature reserve (saw seals and oystercatchers!) and the beach was fantastic. It’s easy to get around and there are lots of views - interesting buildings, especially the church and some unique flint graves. It isn’t the cheapest place to visit, but there is an emphasis on quality and it’s well worth a trip.

Outstanding small villiage with at least two places to eat and also a well stcked CO-OP. Everyone we met were friendly and the long beach, with no noisy sea side shops and amusements was perfect for an unwinding, restful stay. For walkers, the dunes and areas of marsh are worth a visit, and the little ferry across to Southwold allows a change of pace, with the town far more commercialised. Although a villiage, Walberswick can get very full. Functions mean that resturants are not always available, so check in advance!

Beautiful village on the green with a short walk down to the water's edge. Getting across to Southwold is easy on the small rowing boat ferry, with the Sole Bay Fish company a two minute walk away.

The room was split into 3 sections so everything was self-contained. Bed was comfy and heating great. TV in an awkwardly low position but I didn't really use it. Breakfast was great- porridge and orange juice. Wholemeal bread was provided, at my request so thank you. The rooms were very clean, the bathroom was lovely and spacious with a great shower and towels. It was quiet and great location for Walberswick and Suffolk coastal areas. Plenty of parking and easy key access. Good value for money and privacy.

This is an excellent no frills place to stay close to the otherwise expensive Walberswick. The room was bigger than expected with a 'kitchenette' area with microwave and kettle, table and chairs, and a small sofa. Bathroom with walk in shower, and use of garden. The Lodge is handy for walks and cycling on the heaths and marshes, and a twenty minute walk to the village, albeit along a sometimes busy road.

Location was superb, particularly for a large family such as ours - we commandeered four of the five units! Lovely and rural but moments from the sand duney beach of walberswick. Rooms were clean and had all the equipment we needed for a self catering stay. Garden huge and the owners were happy for us to erect a paddling pool for the kids to play in as the weather was glorious. We can't fault the place!

The room was spacious and enhanced with a small kitchen area complete with fridge and microwave. The Lodge is located with a level, 15 minute walk to Walberswick and to the outskirts of Southwold over the bridge. Parking is very straightforward on site and the property provided the essential ingredients for a continental breakfast while we stayed.. Very good value for money - we enjoyed our stay.
