Rhydspence, hotel in Winforton

A 14th century country house located on the Welsh border of the Wye Valley, the Rhydspence is a former drovers inn surrounded by the countryside views.

Everything!!! From a very warm welcome from the owners, who upgraded our stay before we had even arrived, to the superb breakfast. The building was warm and inviting, the room beautifully clean and cosy. The slightly sloping floor added some jollity to the stay. The open fire in the bar was lovely and added to the cosy atmosphere. The bar was busy with locals who were enjoying having a well stocked and friendly pub nearby. We will definitely be going back at the earliest opportunity.

Pandy B&B, hotel in Winforton

Pandy B&B offers luxury accommodations. Nestled in the Herefordshire countryside, large rooms have patios with views over the Golden Valley.

The room was beautiful and bed very comfy. Views out over the fields from the garden were gorgeous. We were in room 2, which had use of a separate hut kitchenette. This was great as we could eat breakfast and dinner with our dog and not disturb the other guests. Magdalena was an amazing host! A great base for hay on wye, Whitney on wye and the brecon beacons!

A very warm welcome with lots of attention paid to my ten yr old as well as me. He spoke to my son as if he were an adult which was really appreciated. The breakfast was top notch. And the beds were really comfy. There was even an “Alexa” in the room which provided a great source of entertainment. Also loved the honesty bar in the communal room.

The village and countryside of Hay on Wye are stunning and interesting. The bookshops and the charming streets of the village need to be explored at leisure. There are many attractive getaways for families including farm visits--our three year old granddaughter had an enriching and fun time at Small Breeds Farm nearby. All we could have asked for was good weather. Ah well.
