It’s great, very comfortable and convenient local. It's close to the beach, there's also a supermarket, and the hotel's facilities are very comfortable.
Also, the service attitude of the staff is very friendly and humane. They knew I was going to Samaria Gorge the next day and prepared breakfast for us that morning.

This was the second time my wife and I have been to Platanes...
This was the second time my wife and I have been to Platanes. We went for the first time a few years ago and thought it was about time we went back. We enjoyed our visit then but this visit was even better. There is a variety of accommodation available from luxury 5 stars hotels to small apartments and a great variety in between. Many residences have pools but there are golden beaches within a short distance of the main strip and many have tavernas and bars.
The main strip has many places to eat and drink and prices are very reasonable. Crete has a great cultural heritage and there are plenty of trips which can be taken.
The weather was wall to wall sunshine

Breakfast was wonderful a good selection of hot and cold options. The breakfast staff and reception team were warm smd welcoming.
The poolside bar service for both drinks and food was a slow.
The pool roof terrace was beautiful overlooking the sea.
We loved the beach bar directly in front of the hotel for lunch. Great service here and family run. Its not part of the hotel but it certainly added to our stay.
Rooms kept clean. I would say the pool towels were rather small but we had our own so not a big issue.
A wonderful hotel in a great location.

Have visited Platanes for over 20 years and still love it as much now as we did then. The locals are so warm and friendly, there are so many delightful restaurants to choose from, our favourite being The White Lady. It’s a 10 min taxi to Rethymno for shopping so ideally situated

The resort was big enough to offer good choices but not so...
The resort was big enough to offer good choices but not so big that it was impersonal. The beach is sandy but at the shore line there are small stones which slip as you move into the water. The shoreline has quite a steep shelf into the sea not a gradual decline. It's best to take some beach type shoes to wear in the water but there are the plenty of shops locally that sell them if you forget. The waves can be quite rough if there is a breeze and it may be challenging for young children.

Plenty of shops, restaurants and things to look at and do.
Plenty of shops, restaurants and things to look at and do. Lovely beach. Would recommend wearing sea shoes to go in the water as it has a lot of pebbles going into it. Lovely clean beach with life guards on duty. Overall a lovely place to visit.

We liked the resort for bars and restaurants, but the sea...
We liked the resort for bars and restaurants, but the sea was not easy to get into for those with mobility issues. The people in bars, restaurants and our accommodation were all very friendly and a good bus service made it a great location for seeing the area.
Very good location, close to the beach and tavernas, but not very crowded as Chania or Rethymnon city is.
The hotel has a very clever administration, everything is in place and the host is receptive off all the gusts needs.
Breakfast good, with homemade pies and everything fresh.
Congratulation to the the cleaning staff, they are doing a great job which gives a feeling off security in this times!
Towels are changed every second day and the beds are very comfortable. We had a free parking place and received an olive oil bottle as gift.
Centrally located, very clean. The staff are exceptional and very friendly. We didn’t realize until 2 days prior to our visit that our flight landed super early in the morning and we would arrive at the hotel around 2:30am, luckily our room had already been vacated and the staff were very accommodating and let us check in extra early, they even asked if we needed a snack before bed. The breakfast buffet was very good, a mix of western and Greek foods. A short 2 minute walk if that to the beach and all other hotels and restaurants!
The ladies from the breakfast, pool bar and SPA are great! Super friendly, they remember who you are and even what you prefer to drink. A very pleasant experience!
The location of the hotel is great, very close to the beach! There is only one bar with swimming pool not owned by the hotel between the hotel and beach. If you don’t know, you thinks its all part of the same.
Private beach with enough seats. We often arrived a little later on the day on the beach, and even in the afternoon there are enough seats to chill and relax.
our room overlooked the pool and the beach, the room was excellent with the best air con we have had on any holiday. The pool was unheated but with Crete being so hot its not needed. The pool has two sections one for toddlers and one for adults, the adult section goes from 1.3m deep to over 2.0m so is great for swimmers and non swimmers.
The beach is next to the restaurant and is gravel which is very difficult to walk on so beach shoes are a must.
This hotel is an amazing gem. The facilities were clean and fresh, breakfast was good and the service was amazing. We came in really late due to a delayed flight and Maria made sure my kids were still able to get something to eat. If you are looking for a place to stay on Crete this is a wonderful find. Excellent service, excellent location, excellent rooms. Would 100% stay again.
Nice and big room, very clean, with helping and nice owner. There is a pool and small bar in the hotel.
Everything was ok, cleaning and change of towels regular.
It's close to the beach and to shops (big supermarket nearby and whole street of turistic shops) and tavernas.
There is a public transportation available and it's not so far from Rethymno (very long walk if you prefer to walk).

I was greeted very warmly by the owner Penelopi who set such amazing mood and continued being super helpful. Very chilled and positive vibes from this hotel, as all guests seemed enjoying themselves. My room had direct access to lovely pool and had its own pretty balcony to relax during evening time
This hotel offered everything we needed for a comfortable stay at a fraction of the cost of other accommodations in the area. The room was impeccably clean, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. Highly recommend!
Amazing hotel with smart saving prices, the sleep quality is superb, ensuring a comfortable night's rest. Located centrally in Platanes, it's a savvy choice for travellers like me, who seeking affordability, quality sleep and a strategic location to explore the area.
Galeana Beach Hotel is very basic, but great as a cheap base. The rooms are very clean as is the pool and dining area. The buffet breakfast is really good too. The maids clean the rooms regularly. There are loads of good places to eat close by.
Best breakfest we have eaten during our stay in Crete. Great pool with bar nearby. Staff polite and kind, room clean and comfortable.
