Our hosts were very accommodating to our needs and we enjoyed our time discussing the farm setting over breakfast. Our emphasis was hiking in the Galtees, so the location was perfect for getting to the trailhead. We enjoyed using the single-cup coffee machine in the morning, and the electric radiator and blankets kept us nice and toasty.

Deebert House Hotel, hotel in Dún ar Aill

Deebert House Hotel sits at the foothills of the Ballyhoura Mountains in Kilmallock and is a great base for hikers and ideal for dining.

The bed was very comfortable and the staff was amazing. I checked in late in the evening as the dining room closed. The man who checked me in had the kitchen make a quick take away dinner that he brought up to my room so I didn’t have to go back out in the cold. Also: the water pressure in the shower is amazing

We arrived late and left for a conference the next morning in Charleville therefore it was from the generosity of Eva sharing her knowledge of her homeland that means returning to stay and enjoy her hospitality and do some of the wonderful things that the area has historically on offer and see the Donkeys as well as walking the landscape a beautiful region with wonderful trees and stone walling very picturesque
