Santa Cristina Sacred Well is AMAZING!!!
Santa Cristina Sacred Well is AMAZING!!! It is about half way between Bosa and Barumini, where Su Nuraxe is (the only Unesco World Heritage Site on Sardinia). As the Nuraghes were being abandoned (WHY???) the culture turned to worship of water. This well (spring) is from about 1000 BC and incredible construction and design, and in almost perfect condition. Definitely worth World Heritage status in our humble opinion. And even if you've seen lots of Nuraghes already, Su Nuraxe is worthwhile, because iit was so complex, so complete, and you go with an English speaking guide. Imagine how easy it would be to defend in it's later construction! Contemplate why the north tower is so cold! So why did they abandon it? Town is little but cute. Museums OK. Dinner very good (Sa Lolly). We also went about 20-30 minutes up a huge hiill to Parco della Giarda, where the only wild horses in Europe are. No ticket needed, gorgeous hike. Saw wild horses including Mom and baby in shallow lake eating grass, several other horses who disappeared like ghosts, but also dueling dung beetles, goats wearing bells, incredible wildflowers and bark stripped but healthy Cork Oak trees. Memorable hike! Great place to visit!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Su Nuroxi in Barumini and recommend the museum as well. Early morning tours are the best as the groups are smaller, the air cooler and the light extrodinarily lovely. Our guide was knowledgeable and thoughtful.She used the visual resources well and gave us plenty of opportunities to ask questions and explore.AAnonymousUnited States of America

So much to do in the area, everything from visiting the most important Nuraghe ruins to walk or rent a bike at the " meseta" ( the Giara) with it's wild horses and beautiful nature, very good restaurants in neighbouring villages, we stayed 2 nights, wish we would have stayed at least 3 !ThomasSweden

This lady must give semimars to other Sardinian hoteliers on how to host guests and how to be perfect and professional!

It's a bit far from many of the touristic areas and the coast, but that makes it even more pleasant to stay in. Hence, if you are exploring Sardinia by car, then this is a very option!
