I loved the old ambiance of this hotel. It is peaceful and quiet. My balcony room had a view of the surrounding mountains. This property also has a lovely pool and outdoor seating for eating. I highly recommend staying at this hotel as it is an 8 minute walk from the train depot in Domidossola in the historic town close to all restaurants, museums and places of interest. This hotel is owned by the same family for many years. Dinner and service in their restaurant was delightful and the minestrone soup…superb!

The view from our terrazo was exquisite and the kitchen was very functional. Our host helped us overcome some challenges caused by our own lack of language facility and lack of preparedness, throughout the trip

This is a great place to stay to explore the mountains on the border of Switzerland without paying Swiss prices. The apartment has everything you need and is a very nice size for a couple or small family. The parking was easy and there were always plenty of spots. There are a few different options left for breakfast as well as coffee and tea.

The property is lovely.
Upon our arrival, the host welcomed us, showed us around, and made sure everything was in place.
Breakfast was lovely!
Calm atmosphere.

The historic piazza Mercato and the area there(just round the cornner and ?100 m down a shopping street) was wonderful. Modern services with cafes/restaurants and interesting shops made up the perimeter of the piazza . Despite its comfort and accommodation of modern details the historic atmosphere and authenticity wasn't compromised. There was a fabulous bookshop (for almost any subject I think) but brilliant for alpinism/alpine history. Supermarkets were <1km away, train <1 km away, peaceful at night - you can't not love it which is why people from Switzerland cross the border to enjoy life in some warmer sun

If you don't speak Italian and you don't have your own car...
If you don't speak Italian and you don't have your own car either skip Domodossola or make sure you are staying in a place right in town. Once you leave the center of town it's not a walkable place. The drivers race everywhere despite the narrow streets, there aren't any sidewalks in the residential areas and it's extremely difficult to find anyone who can speak English.
On the positive side the prices were a lot lower for everything than in Switzerland and the architecture and scenery was beautiful.

Having had a great two night stay we extended it a further two night which we quickly regretted.
The noise which started on the third night was intolerable. A local bar started blasting loud music around 5pm. The police drove passed several times but didn't intervene until around 11pm. This did not stop the music or noise. When the music stopped just before midnight we had endured it for almost 7hours non-stop. We were exhausted and the shouting of people outside (including young children at the bar) continued into the early hours of the morning. We would not return!

Beautiful little medieval centre, lots of pedestrian streets, masses of good restaurants, fabulous setting in the mountains.
Not too busy even in high summer, and friendly locals. Well-connected by trains to Switzerland and the rest of Italy.

Local residents are very friendly, helpful people.
Local residents are very friendly, helpful people. The life is so laidback, food is amazing. You can try loads of different type of wines, all of them was really nice. You can find vegan restaurants and the are cater for gluten free as well. If you want a really relaxing holiday, I highly recommend this little beautiful town.
We had a great stay at NicoMat Rooms in Domodossola. It is conveniently located in the center of town and only a short walk from the train station. Anna was a wonderful host who made check-in and check-out easy, and provided lots of useful information about the town and good places to eat. Our room was exceptionally comfortable and clean. The breakfast was terrific! We will look to stay at NicoMat again during our next visit the lovely town of Domodossola.
The apartment is in a wonderful location, a quiet small town up from Domodossola. It is a really clean apartment, with everything you will need: small but well-equipped kitchen, shower and bathroom very clean. There is a garden with a barbecue and table, overlooking the valley. The village is built on a terraced hill, so you need to walk to your apartment. Also, when you are taller than 185 cm, you need to watch your head.
Charming two bedroom suite right in the heart of Domodossola.
Everything really close , great restaurants and cafes nearby!
Parking was available and the staff was very friendly and accommodating, offering water right after we arrived. They took time to explain everything and direct us towards the highlights of the city.
Our two rooms each had two separate bedrooms. One bedroom had a king-size bed and the other had two twins which was wonderful. The rooms and bathroom were modernly renovated and the shower was large and comfortable to shower in compared to many other hotels we stayed at. Also the Michelin Star restaurant was excellent.
This was the first time we had stopped at this hotel and it was very nice.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and pleasant.
The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable
The bathroom was very clean and the shower was very good
The breakfast was continental and very good
A small family run Bed and Breakfast, with the best breakfast I had in years.
Only fresh and home made products. Fresh fruits, a small cake from the day before.
One can see that the restaurant and hotel has been maintained and renovated throughout the years with taste and good material
Staying at this property was the best choice we could have made for Domodossola! The owners were so kind and hospitable, the rooms and shared spaces comfortable, a delicious homemade breakfast, and nothing could beat that view in the morning as the sun rose!
Small centrally located boutique hotel, lovingly designed with great eye for detail and perfection. Great atmosphere. Charming and enthusiastic welcome by hostess. Well appointed rooms. Great breakfast in authentic cellar.
The hotel was lovely and comfortable. The rooms were very clean but very hot as they did not have Air Conditioning. They had a fan but it kept blowing hot air around the room.
The food was exceptional.
Central location in Domodossola. Very clean on arrival and comfortable. Everything as indicated on the listing. We had everything we needed. Appreciated the extras of milk and cold water on arrival.
Lovely hotel a short distance from the centre. Very warm and comfortable room as it was early November when I stayed and the heating was welcome as the first snows of winter fell overnight.
This hotel is a beautifully restored village that has been converted into a charming B&B. The views are incredible and there are many hiking trails through the mountains to nearby villages.
The place is exceptional, indeed : the buildings, i.e. house and annexes, as well as the garden - it’s worth stopping by. And, not the least, Domodossola is a beautiful city.
Spacious apartment, well equipped, very clean, easy parking, easy walk to center of town. Host and her family very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast very good.
The place is situated in the middle of Domodossolas Old Town, everything is in walking distance and still the nights are quite. Nice place, well equipped.
