Largest room and living room area with table full of snacks. Super nice hostess showed us everything. She called a local restaurant and made a reservation for us. For a converted apartment in a quiet building with residents also it was nice. Elevator was a bonus.

Appartamento Giovanna, hotel in Riomaggiore

A self-catering apartment in the very center of Riomaggiore and just a few steps from the Ligurian Sea, Appartamento Giovanna features functional décor, tiled floors and colorful fabrics.

We were greeted by Mario who explained everything about the apartment and our stay in general; how to navigate the 5 cities and what to expect. Loved the bottle of wine & pasta+pesto, cakes & tea they left for us. It was a nice touch and we very much appreciated it after a long day of travels :) Nice views from the apartment.

Very beautiful town a must see, however extemely high hills and steps, if you are not too fit it can be difficult to manage, there are other towns in cinque terre that are flatter and you can visit Riomaggiore for the day. There is basically one main street with shops and food area which are quite costly. As it is a small area it is very full of travellers so it can be a bit difficult to access some eateries and viewing areas.

    Riomaggiore is quintessential Cinque Terre.

Riomaggiore is quintessential Cinque Terre. It is rugged and beautiful. It is a colorful, bustling fishing village full of friendly people and yummy restaurants, bars, bakeries, little shops, art galleries, etc. And it wasn't as overrun as Vernazza. We stayed on the harbor which I highly recommend. We took a sunset cruise that left steps from our accommodations. After visiting all the towns, it was my favorite, by far.

Riomaggiore was a lovely village to stay in.

Riomaggiore was a lovely village to stay in. I am sure all the towns in Cinque Terre are lovely to stay in. One needs to be a bit in shape to do the hiking or even ride the trains but is an adventure not to be missed! The scenery is spectacular.

Wonderful historic town and the trek options between the towns are a treat. The train also makes it so easy to travel to all the towns. We also did a boat trip from Levanto to see Cinque Terra from the beautiful blue sea. Just lovely, a real highlight. There are also lots of choices of places to eat that seemed quite economical.

It’s hard to know which town to stay in, but we were not disappointed. I would definitely chose this town again to stay in Cinque Terra. Sunsets are the best. Atmosphere is fantastic. There is a great rocky beach to swim from, exploring water caves etc. Colours are sensational and great reasonable food choices. You can walk everywhere, but make sure you stay by the water!

The Cinque Terre is a must see place, you do need to have a good pair of legs as it is all about walking and some places a very steep. Riomaggiore is a beautiful place and although small is worth exploring. The best Troffie was served at the trattoria near the station as was all their food, homemade excellence. A train pass will take you to all the other towns very quickly.

Creuza de Ma is a fantastic place to stay. The room was one of the best I had in Italy. The views are amazing. The different terraces (5l were wonderful with a different view depending on which one you chose to sit at. The room was clean, and every day, the staff came to make sure we had everything we needed. Davide and his people were easy to communicate with and answered any questions we had right away. Riomaggiore is such a special place, and staying at Creuza de Ma made it so much more so. We can not wait to come back.

Lovely clean and spacious apartment with an outside area to relax. Communication with host is excellent. A wonderfully informative booklet in the room with information about the area. Close to station which was a bonus. Cinque Terre is full of hills, so it was great getting back to the apartment at the end of the day and not have to walk up another one. The villages in the area are all beautiful but Riomaggiore was our favorite. Would love to return some day. Thank you Marco.

Mario, the caretaker of the apartment, was super nice and friendly. When we checked in, he gave us complimentary water, beer, and wine, and told us all about the Cinque Terre towns and tips on how to get around and where to eat. The room was great, with a fantastic view overlooking Riomaggiore. There was a Nespresso machine in the room as well, but we barely used it as there was a fantastic place that served cappuccino just a 1 min walk away.

A super special place in Cinque Terre! The hotel is right by the marina in Riomaggiore and we loved waking up to the sea view while being in a central location. Most of all we truly appreciated the hospitality and attentiveness of the staff, who went above and beyond with communication and also recommending the best local experiences. I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a wonderful experience visiting Cinque Terre

In my opinion, this was the best place and city to stay in if you are visiting Cinque Terre! The location of this property is right in the marina in riomaggiore! Only a 10 minute walk to the train station and 5 minute walk to the beach! The room was clean and very spacious! Even though you are right in the marina the room is quiet and we had no issues with noise. A must stay in riomaggiore!!!

Location was great, and the view was amazing. We stayed for two nights with 2 adults and 2 teenaged daughters. We loved the town of Riomaggiore and having a glass of wine on the balcony. Apartment was spacious with modern furnishings and very clean. Easy to walk into town or over to train station to explore the other towns of Cinque Terre. Host was good at communication.

Stay was very comfortable and close to the town. I highly recommend the apartment as there are many windows and beautiful views. Host was great meeting us to hand over keys. Beware there are many stairs to reach the apartment but that is common in all or cinque terre. Luckily there was a lift that helped.

We would stay here again for sure if we returned to Cinque Terre. It was also the best town out of the 5 in Cinque Terre.
