A darling of Shakespeare, beautiful Verona is the literary home of Romeo and Juliet. The medieval families of Montague and Capulet immortalized in the tragic play did actually exist and some buildings relating to the Montagues are still present.
Sorry to disappoint, but the place purporting to have been Juliet's house in Verona was not actually where she lived. However, it’s still worth suspending reality for a while and stepping out onto the balcony to see if Romeo turns up.
Another of the must-see Verona sights is the Arena, a largely intact Roman amphitheater which is now the spectacular setting for outdoor summer operas. Smaller Roman relics include the stone bridge that crosses the river by the Roman theater whose remains are partly beneath a house.
The city’s narrow streets house many cafes and restaurants which have cheaper fare than the touristy ones by the Arena, although admittedly the views are less impressive. Life in Verona is laid back and elegant, so expect to see some well-heeled Italians on a post-dinner passeggiata.
Verona Airport is a little out of town, so you’ll need to take a bus to get to your Verona hotel, apartment or B&B. Book with Booking.com for the best choice.

It was awesome to meet with family and Verona was the perfect location as it is small and you get to walk and go to nearby lakes and spend the day with dear ones. We ate at a lovely restaurant IL PUNTO ROSA. the food is awesome and the service is excellent. They also have great desserts and very reasonable prices. We loved it!!
The attractions are easy to get to. Has very lively piazzas and very nice people. Yes, Verona is nice to go but you must get a nice bed and a nice home made breakfast.

Very tight city where you can see a lot and do not need much time.
Venezia is 1.30 mins by train and costs only 10-11 euro per person.
Garda lake was not bad. We visited Lezise and Bardolino and had a good time. We eat 100% outside and the food was amazing. Dinner for 3 of us costed 70-130 euro depends of the restaurant.

Plenty to see in the old town centre.
Plenty to see in the old town centre. The arena is a must and seeing an opera in there must be quite a sight. I ate in the main square but it wasn't too expensive which is different to a lot of places. They make a lot of the R+J connections but even without that, there is plenty of real historical stuff to be surrounded by. I would have liked to have gone up the main tower but it was a national holiday so the hours were limited and I had to get off on my travels.

A stunning historic city with beautiful piazzas, squares and monuments. Was very crowded in April so I imagine would be hard to navigate in high summer, as a lot of the streets are very narrow. Public transport isn't great, just local buses which are cheap (1.50e a ticket) but difficult to figure out. Castel San Pietro was a highlight, with stunning view across the city and a good value funicular (only 3.00e).
Also, the Arena was only 3.00e to access when we were there because it was partly under renovation. This was excellent value for what is a truly amazing ancient Roman site.

This is a very busy city, a major tourist site, but is absolutely jam packed with history, amazing buildings, fantastic restaurants and as much shopping as you could wish for. Because of the connection to Romeo and Juliet you will find an over abundance of reference and souvenirs but hey ho. A good 3 to 4 day break to get it all in without rushing. One tip, hold on tight if you use a taxi!
I do not give 10’s lightly, but this place deserved it. All communication was immediate and helpful. The premises were spotless. The bathroom was twice the usual size and completely modern. The free parking space was next door to the modern building. An outdoor patio was available and the wifi was fine. He even supplied an assortment of cold drinks/beer at nominal cost (1 euro) in a small cooler in the common area. And the apt was decorated in a stylish way. This was easily one of the nicest places I have stayed at in Italy.
Fabulous appartment in the centre of Verona in a side street but far enough away to be quiet at night. Very near to the amphitheatre (5 mins) Very modern exceptionally clean with great pillows and a large comfortable bed. Everything provided from a small pack of washing up sponge/liquid to shower gels etc. we had a problem with our air conditioning which was quickly sorted by reception. The walk to the station is around 25 mins and very easy. We did it at 7am in the morning but Ubers are available in Italy.
This was our best hotel on our road trip in Italy/Sicily. Everything was perfect: The reception spoke perfect English, was always helpful and available. The hotel was quiet and the room very comfortable, with a nice bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and rich. The proximity to Verona downtown is okay on foot, easy with an electric scooter. The street in front of the hotel has free parking and it seemed to be easy to get a parking spot (on a weekday).
This place was not what I was expecting at all. When we arrived and entered our room we were so happy to see that it was like walking into a home rather then a hotel. It was clean, comfortable and even the little Kitchenette and snacks topped it off. It had Netflix and was able to watch in different languages and you could also hear the church bells in the background.
Would make a trip back to Verona just for this place.
Apartment Rosso Verona was our best experience so far in Italy.
The apartment itself caters well for 4 people, is very well located, clean, well equipped and in excellent condition.
However, it is necessary to talk about hospitality. Giuzeppe and Cristina are a wonderful couple and provide excellent service, in an attentive and personal way.
Thank you Giuzeppe & Cristina for making our days in Verona the best.
Staff were not just only nice but really try to solve your problem to provide you with the most comfortable stay whether it's about parking, finding a nice restaurant or late check-in. The location cannot be better and room is luxurious enough considering it's not Milan. Price is also competitive if you compare the prices with equivalent level of hotels in other cities in Italy.
The personnel was more than helpful. The lady at the reception gave us information not only concerning the hotel, but also about how to get to the important touristic points of Verona. The room was clean. The service at the restaurant was good, personnel spoke good English, which is not often the case in Italy. The breakfast was good.
Stunning boutique style hotel. Staff were first class, so friendly and helpful. When you get to the hotel you are not sure you are in the right place, but when you get out the lift you walk into a beautiful high class hotel with superb fittings and decor. The breakfast was wonderful and easy to get to the centre of Verona.
The location was superior, very clean, and you can find most of what you need during your stay.
We stayed 2 nights, we spent one day in Verona and the other day in Vince . So it was a very good option to escape the cost of Vince hotels.
I would recommend the place to my friends and family who are planning to visit Italy
This stunning small hotel was a highlight of my Italy trip! Decorated in modern Italian, antiques and kitsch with a lovely breakfast spread. The bed was so comfy I did not want to leave. Staff was welcoming and fun as I tried to use my basic Italian-- they, of course, spoke perfect English. Verona is a sweet town.
The breakfast was good, the lady serving breakfast was very helpful, friendly and always smiling.
The room was comfortable enough for a few days stay. The location inside the train station was perfect for travelling around Italy and only a ten minute bus ride to the center of Verona.
Greatest hotel in Italy on our road trip thru Italy!! amazing modern room, great pillows, air condition was great, extremely polite stuff, great food and vine. Definitely will come back :) stunning lobby and restaurant. Great safety place to park.
Everything was great! Location Verona Enjoy is perfect, close to train station (12 min) and city center (12 min).
The most delicious gelateria in Italy La Romana is located opposite.
It was clean and comfortable, wi-fi worked very well
Ivano was the perfect host, made us feel completely at home in his beautiful boutique hotel. Superb breakfast, super-comfortable rooms & en-suite bathroom, highly recommended for a romantic getaway in Verona, the city of love!
Beautiful and cozy room, and the most complete breakfast I've eaten so far in my trip in Italy. Virginia doesn't speak much English, but she is very friendly, nice and makes herself understood.
Location is great, the room is really big compared to another places stay in Italy. Common area as well is quite nice. Angie was really nice I would stay here again for sure
Friendly staff. Good parking. Nice room in hotel, easy stay with us pet. Easy walking in Verona centrum. Delicious food in a hotel restaurant. And very good breakfast.
The hotel is in a fantastic location right in the centre of Verona. It is a beautiful clean boutique hotel with very friendly staff. The breakfast was very good.
