We stayed for a couple of nights in early March. The house was spacious and fully stocked with amenities, allowing us to cook (many seasonings were provided), make coffee, do dishes, do laundry, dryer, and to stay warm with the heating mat and the kotatsu. The house guideline and attraction/restaurant suggestion were both helpful. It’s a lovely house and reminded us of the Japanese cartoons having all those tatami floors and indoor hallway.

Fantastic experience! The hotel staff was friendly, the ocean view from our room was beautiful, and the onsen was relaxing. Also the massage chairs outside the onsen were really comfortable! Aqua Palace next door to the hotel provides beautiful rooftop views and refreshing hot tubs and saunas!

    I didn't like the area.

I didn't like the area. It appeared abandoned without the shopping and sightseeing tourists love. The best thing about the area was a store name Beisia, however, I don't think it's actually in Onjuku.

Not too much open real early or real late.

Not too much open real early or real late. Other than that it was great. Local restaurants were really good, the town is small and there’s not too much traffic or anything outside of getting off work time. Beautiful beach. Lots of sites to see.

Onjuku beach was nice, certainly a place for surfers.

Onjuku beach was nice, certainly a place for surfers. Beautiful beach.. I came with my children from Sunday-Monday. Many restaurants were closed on Sunday night.. I found a cafe near the hotel, they have lunch menu but no dinner.. (half bar and half cafe) The owner was nice to let us have lunch menu for dinner as there were no other customers at that time. It was such a nice and cozy place. Perhaps there are more shops open on the weekend and holidays. I love Onjuku. Will come back soon!
