We have found Toyoko Inns to be consistently reliable. The staff are friendly/courteous, the rooms are clean and generally quiet (soundproofing is quite good). We especially appreciate the comfortable (softer) beds when compared to many or most of the Toyoko Inns we've stayed at in Japan.

The location is handy if you’re coming from or going to go to the airport by train. Unfortunately I didn’t have a room with a view, but it was a comfortable and quiet room. Nice bathroom. You know what to expect with a big chain like this, so good for a first or last night of a trip, but I wouldn’t stay here if you’re looking for a more “local” experience.

The Westin Seoul Hotel truly surprised me!
The Westin Seoul Hotel truly surprised me! I knew to expect a lovely hotel considering the Westin name. However the Westin Seoul far exceeded our expectation. It is truly a 5 star property. The historic hotel is stunning! Very clean, modern and elegant. The best part was the staff. All of them! The staff was so gracious, extremely helpful, worked very hard to assure our satisfaction. The breakfast buffet offered multi-culture options. The happy hour might as well be dinner since the buffet was large and offered so many options with nice liqours and wines with a beautiful view of Seoul skyline. Highly recommend and will stay there again.

A vibrant and interesting city with an endless list of things to do! Lots of inexpensive eateries with local and international food, lots of budget food choices at convenience stores, and lots and lots of fun shops or spots like photobooths to take fun group (or single!) pictures. Plus a wealth of history and culture!

Seoul is an amazing city that mixes the old (north of the Han) and the new (south of the Han).
We managed to visit a lot of places of our interest including museums, palaces, shopping malls and even Lotte World (amusement park).
There is so much to see and do. Taxis (based on 4 travelling) are cheap and a good option to go from places that are far from each other - don't underestimate the time it takes to get from one place to another.
Probably the only consideration is that there are a lot of stairs (including underpasses) and not always lifts so this may affect people with reduced mobility.

We did a quick trip from Japan to Seoul (3 full days) since it was only a 2 1/2 hour flight, why not :) Wish we had more time in Seoul to explore so plan your days according to area/location. Most "to do" are scattered all over Seoul so you will need at least a day in each area/location like Myeondong, Itaewon, Bukchon, Cheonggyecheon to name a few. Each area will take you about 30 minutes by train depending on your home base hotel. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes....Get ready for walking, steps, trains and maybe taxis. For the 3 days we visited the Lotte World area, Coex Aquarium, Starfield Coex Library, N. Seoul Tower, Banpo bridge at night for the rainbow water lights, Gwangjang market for local Korean food stalls, Myeondong shopping district, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and some underground train shopping areas. Food experience anywhere but our favorite was Lotte Department store food level in Myeondong. You MUST visit Olive Young for Korean skin care. WISH we had MORE time but will return.

I thought it might be difficult because I don't speak Korean, but everyone I met was kind and helpful, I they did not speak English they went out of their way to find me someone who did. I saw a lot and really enjoyed the trips I went on and the street markets and just the differences from home. I found the found fresh and healthy.
Great location! Jongno 3-ga subway just couple of minutes walk, close to Palaces, Gwanghwamun. Several convenient stores around. At night with Sub Zero temperature, we walked to roadside food tent for beer and food, got fried chicken or other street food to go. Rooms are spacious, clean and well furnished with microwave, washing machine, etc. We stayed a total 11 nights, at 3 different suites since we made Seoul as our base while travelling South Korea, bringing only the luggage we needed for each destination, leaving the rest with the hotel.
The location is phenomenal. On your right is the Euljiro -1 station which is where the Myeongdong shopping streets are and on your left is the Cheonggyecheon stream. The Hotel also has many local restaurants near by to help satisfy your korean food craving. The hotel also has a pub which is kinda decent, there's also a live music pub stones throw away from the hotel. Yes forgot to mention, the Hotel has a roofop garden which is excellent to hang out in the evenings, has a bunch of tables chairs perfect for that late night hang out.
The hotel lies very close to the stop of the airport bus. It is right near Myeongdong, 2 shopping malls and a metro station. The stuff was helpful and fixed any issues we had very quickly, even late at night. The air-conditioning didn't make noise. There is a laundry room in the basement, but watch out for waiting lines, especially in the weekends. They have a mcirowave in the 3d floor.
Tips for Korea in summer - it is humid and your clothes will never be 100% dry. The shopping malls have great foodcourts in the basements.
1. It was a warm room. The hotel is very expensive around Myeongdong, but this guesthouse is very cheap compared to the hotel.
2. As in the review, the boss also made Korean kimchi pancakes for breakfast.
3. It's close to Myeongdong Station and there's a 7-Eleven convenience store right in front of the accommodation.
4. The lights are on on the street all evening, so it's nice to be able to go around alone.
5. The Namsan Tower was right behind me, so I could see it from my room.
The room is comfortable, clean, and complete. I love that this is a Japanese style hotel with separate toilet and bath. The toilet has bidet. Even the toilet in the reception area also has bidet. Pajama is also provided and also humidifier. Amenities are excellent. Location is superb, easy to get bus, taxi, very close to Namdaemun market and within walking distance to Myeongdong (15-20 minutes). Subway is around 10 minutes walk. The staff speaks good English, Japanese, and Korean.
Convenient location as the hotel was situated:
1) Near a bus stop with the airport shuttle services, making it convenient to travel to and fro from Incheon International Airport.
2) A train station nearby for daily travels
3) Walking distance from Myeongdong Shopping district
4) Many eateries beside it. There was even a convenience store in the 1st floor of the hotel itself.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable to stay in. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
-the location was just perfect , right next to myeong-dong and airport bus shuttle stop.
- the lady host & 1 guy was super friendly and helpful.
- it has dryer and washer in the property.
- the bed is so firm and comfortable
- I couldn’t find any location in map or google map, I’ve heard Korea not support map or google map, anyway if you are confuse the location it’s right opposite of sky park hotel myeong-dong , right next to the metcha cafe myeongdong.
The staff were fun to chat with and gave us great tips. They told us at some point that they've only been running this new hotel for 1 month (since July 2022?). We were very impressed; it was already the best hotel we stayed at in Korea, and to hear that it's so professional and great after only one month is truly astounding. Very clean, great value, and great size of the room and bathroom (which is not so easy to find in Korea). Awesome place!
Very nice and helpful front desk. Room cleaning is everyday, they will change your towels make up room etc. The guards at night are very nice, will help you with luggage etc. It was my first time in Seoul, and I can recommend this hotel to stay. You have subway near, a lot of korean restaurants around, coffes and shops. It is easy to come back to hotel at night (there is night bus stop near).
Location was central to everything, right next to the night markets and shopping strip which was very convenient. Theres a bar downstairs which also served food and a vending machine with noodles and frozen meals. Decor was modern and stylish. We received a welcome drinks token for the bar on arrival. We stayed in 3 hotels during our stay in South Korea and this was our favourite one.
The location of the hotel is convenient if you want to stay in Gangnam area. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes around, and close to different transportations to get to other areas in the neighbourhood and around the city. The room was clean and bright. The room was cleaned every day and bathrobe is provided. Amenities and water is provided every day. The bed was huge.
Great sized room if solo traveling. Great location just right off the busy streets of Hongdae. Subway station is just a 10 minute or less walk away.
Staff was super attentive and warm. The room was immaculate and clean. Bed was super comfortable, probably one of the best ones I’ve had in Korean Airbnbs.
Location is good, middle in the upper class districts of South Korea. However, for the tourist, you need to take other transportation to get to the tourist place.
Facilities, Interior and bedding was great. also their mini bar snacks in room are reasonably priced, which is not unusual in Hotel.
The boutique hotel was beautifully decorated and the rooms were neat, as well as comfy. Myeongdong is full of restaurants and shopping, so it was convenient to enjoy korean food and street food. The train is very close by and you can get to Namsan tower in less than 15 minutes.
I loved that the staffs were totally attentive to my needs, the hotel was very clean overall. The continental food was delicious (if you like Korean food). Overall, the location was the best part because the hotel was located centrally to everything.
Pour over coffee in the morning. Kind and considerate staff. Spoke both English and Korean very well. The hotel is located right near the main street of Hongdae Station, but the soundproofing meant the noise wasn't a problem.
this hotel was a good choice to stay for a short term while having a short bussiness trip in Korea. Especially thank all staff who was kind and helpful.. now going back to the States:)
The location of the hotel is very convenient, the room is clean, the staff at the counter are very considerate, and the service is warm. I will choose to stay next time I go to Korea。
location is great for first nights in Korea, as hotel is directly above the subway station from Incheon airport.
breakfast buffet is very good.
beds were comfortable
