This place is amazing! Everything is new and clean. The rooms are big, with AC and the beds are super comfortable. The place is just a 10min ride to the beach (Hirekitiya and Dickewella). I’m sure this is still a hidden gem. Also, the owner is amazing, she helped us with everything we needed, renting a bike, laundry, finding transportation, etc.

The host family was great, they really take care of you. It was like a mini resort: right on the beach, removed from the street noise, a sweet little bar and outdoor seating area for eating, sun beds, but not large and impersonal.... And the stretch of beach is wide and long with little commercialization. Quite perfect. Room was spacious and bed comfortable enough. And very few people on beach.

Our stay at Dickwella Resort and Spa was the highlight of our visit to the south of Sri Lanka. The location, food, staff, and service were above and beyond our expectations. We made the choice of having breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and I would highly recommend anyone else to do the same. The food is some of the best anywhere in Sri Lanka, especially the fish made in various ways. The stay was made extra special by the attentive and friendly staff and they took every effort to provide us with the best service. Big thanks goes out to all the staff in the reception, restaurant, pool, housekeeping, and maintenance. We look forward to our next stay with you.

I would avoid Chrystal Resort Dickwella at all costs.
I would avoid Chrystal Resort Dickwella at all costs. Venture to any other hotels in the region and skip this hotel. Management was completely unsupportive to any of our needs - we showed up after a long flight to find out our rooms were not available at all and were told to go find another hotel.

Beautiful beach right on the shore of the Indian Ocean,...
Beautiful beach right on the shore of the Indian Ocean, which is always warm as five o'clock tea. Big swing, and a bar on the beach... all you need here is time. Time to relax, time to forget the road trip here, to forget that you have to go back to daily chores, etc. Just swim, sun bathe, sip, repeat!

Dickwella Beach is quite deserted.
Dickwella Beach is quite deserted. There aren't that many places along the beach but made for a nice walk. Hiriketiya Beach however is lovely and there are plenty of places to sit and relax. The restaurants in close proximity to the beach are nice. Especially Hiriketiya Seafood which served the best food we had in Sri Lanka.

I did not have a young family my youngest daughter 25 you could eat at any restaurant all good for older people Tuk tuk easy around local and owner of hotel sorted taxi if going further all very easy and not expensive the safari was the high light for us getting very close to elephants also big Buddha was one off my high lights and short tuk tuk ride from Dickwella Agreat place for mature easy going no high end facilities stunning weather take jungle deet mossi very small and quite only come out 6.30 to 7.30 8pm they seem to like European bodies
Loved the room and balcony. The whole building is completely new. Spacious room and bathroom, modern style and clean. Big balcony. The owner was so helpful. Welcomed us with coconuts and cold towels, and was quick to help whenever we had questions, and gave great restaurant tips. It is located a short drive from the beach, and the facility has its own tuktuk driver that easily takes you to Hiriketiya/dikwella beach/ATM/restaurants.
The house is a very nice and private. It is located near the grocery’s and everything you might need and the place is quite. It takes 10-15 minutes to go to the beach. The common space is cosy and the room is clean and comfortable. Minu is a really hospitable and kind person. He served an excellent breakfast and allowed me to use the kitchen. I will totally stay here again when I come back to Dikwella
Thank you, Minu!
the beach is just across the street .. the price is so cheap .. the owners are super friendly people .. and great .. they even offered a late check out until 17:00 because we arrived late at the checkin day .. the breakfast is the best I ever had in Sri Lanka .. made in house … they offered free tour around the area and the beach by TukTuk
We loved the location of the property because it is between Dikwella beach and Hiriketiya Beach and this was great for us as we could stroll around to both beaches every day. Supermarket and good eating places were close. Besides that the room was perfect for us, pretty new facilities and great hospitality.
The owner made sure we were really well taken care of from the moment we arrived, he even prepared a fantastic Sri Lankan breakfast for us on arrival. The property itself is really well laid out and brand new. Its an ideal little holiday villa with three rooms and a little kitchen. Highly recommended!
The host of this Homestay is super friendly and very helpful. They offer you a lot of very helpful services.
The rooms are quite comfortable and clean, the rest of the house is also nice.
The Location is quite good, in the middle of The two beaches. But for sunsets the Dikwella beach is way better.
Helena Hostel is located super good! It takes you only one minute to the main road to get some food (for local price). 5 minutes to the Dickwella beach and around 7 minutes to Hiriketiya beach.
The family which runs the hostel is super nice and helpful! After 10 days it felt a bit like home :-)
Really great value for money! The room is big and clean, and the little terrace is super nice. The family is super kind and helpful with everything. I really felt at home over here. They have a stoof were you can cook your own breakfast with their eggs (which are the best I had in Sri Lanka).
I liked being in between Dikwella beach and hiriketiya beach, very close to both. The room AC was good and the room was comfortable. Suri and his family were so kind and helpful. Suri helped us arrange a day trip to Yala and helped us with transport when we needed it.
Dikwella is a vibrant town on a quiet part of the South Coast, but this homestay was my favourite of out trip. Lovely room with A/C and adequate shower. However we were made to feel so so welcome.
My favourite aspect was the beautiful surroundings of the home
Very friendly hosts always smiling and ready to help. Property is very clean and well maintained. Various and good and hearty breakfast. Nice restaurant nearby - not more than 100 meters on the left from the hotel. Good value for money!
Close to beach, great family run hotel, nice to have cooking. Nice to watch monkeys from our window. Family couldn’t help us enough! Even cooked us a complimentary dinner on our last night , very kind and a great curry !
Friendly welcoming staff, excellent food (big portions) and a beautiful setting. Pool was clean and a welcome break from the sea and the hotel is right on the beach. The beach is quiet and perfect for relaxing.
The vibe of this hotel is amazing. The decor is cool, and the manager and rest of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The shared spaces are great to hang out in. Plus, it's right on the beach.
Guys at the hotel are extremely friendly, they take care of everything you need, also internet works well which was important for me and they even make a loundry for us. Highly recommend!
The guys that run this place are amazing and can't do enough for you. It's also super clean and close to both Hiriketiya and dikwella beach.. both only a 5 minute walk.
Nice hotel and nice staff. The beach is not the best one because of the huge waves and unfortunately the water in the swimming pool was hot as in the jaccuzzi.
