I love the history and architecture of Campeche and the vibrancy of activities at the parks. The Malecon is a must see and experience as it adds modern to the old and is just a relaxing area. Great food … nice people … lots to see … lots to do and it feels safe to move around.
But the beach was a great disappointment. It’s far, expensive to get there and they charge you to enter yet they do not clean up the sargassum so it looks nasty and smells nasty 🤮

great walled town, long Malecon for morning walks before getting too hot. Nice small museum of archeology. The town is getting cleaned-up, repainting a lot of the older bldgs facades. Nice restaurants, very traditional Mercado, to buy fresh fruits and vegetables.

I loved the old houses and the waterfront light and sound show. High marks for Colonial charm. Sadly, my restaurant experiences, while edible, were not up to the standard I experienced in Valladolid and Playa del Carmen. I did not get to the beach.

I really REALLY love old cities like this with walls and forts to explore. It was easy to get around on foot within the city walls and with colectivos to the forts outside the main area. The malecón was nice to walk in the evening and enjoy the sunset. Lots of renovations going on around the streets so they are looking after the place for the future too.

This city although big does not have a big feel.
This city although big does not have a big feel. Lots of history. Must say it’s the cleanest place in the Yucatán. Friendly people. Beautiful effort of maintaining buildings. Very impressive! Our favourite restaurants/pub was Patroni’s. Best pizza gourmet pizza ever! The lit up town with all the pubs and restaurants was lovely. Down the way a grand market to visit. Very good tour, English provided. The only downside was that we went for a tour at the time told to us at 4:30 and the attendant never showed up. We took it in the morning. Well worth the wait.

This was our second trip, 3 days long.
This was our second trip, 3 days long. Our first was a week long. We're considering moving to Campeche from Merida. Our first trip was just before Christmas and it was beautiful with plenty of activities going on the entire time. We were able to visit most of the tourist attractions but not all. The fortress wall, the Malecon, the Water Show, concerts in the Main Square, Trolley Tour etc. And you can't miss the central Mercado, it was amazing compared to others we have visited. Very clean, as was the rest of Campeche. We felt very safe wherever we went. Our second trip was to revisit and make sure we were still in love with Campeche, and we are. Not as many festivities but still plenty going on. The whole of Centro appears to be going through a government sponsored revitalization project. It was beautiful already but should be spectacular once it's completed. Highly recommend.
Narrativ Lofts - Serena is a wonderful accommodation in the perfect location to explore all the best of Campeche. Sebastián, the host, was extremely responsive to our every need, although we had few. The house is very well equipped with everything we needed for a memorable stay. We especially appreciated the quality furnishings, comfortable beds, and premium linens. Even breakfast items (fruit, granola, eggs, juice, coffee, etc.) were there upon our arrival. I highly recommend Narrativ Lofts - Serena. You won't be disappointed!
This is a stunning hotel, a beautiful old building with all its original features intact. It's ideally situated for exploring the old parts of Campeche, and a couple of minutes from the seafront. The rooms are huge and have splendid doorways and traditional furniture. There are no internal windows, yet, oddly, this doesn't seem to matter and if you wish you can open the top half of your door onto the splendid courtyard. If you want authentic Spanish-influenced Mexico, this is it.
We booked Hotel Plaza Colonial, but after the booking we were told that the Hotel is closed and instead we would become a room in the Hotel Campeche (next to it). Hotel Campeche was really nice, felt like an upgrade. The room was good, with a nice view and sunlight. Good working air condition and small but nice pool. Very good location to explore the city, staff was always helpful. One if the beste showeres i had in Mexico (pressure and heat control).
This hotel is in the absolute perfect location between the main stretch of the boardwalk and the pedestrian street gate of the old walled city. Parks, restaurants, & shops within walking distance with Oxxo around the corner. Great view. Staff was very nice and professional. Clean & cozy, great water pressure. Kids loved the pool. Would stay here again without hesitation if we ever make it back to Campeche.
The hotel has very much a spa-like atmosphere. There is relaxing music all around at the reception and the pool. Available drinks during the day. Exactly like in spa.
The room was spacious enough and well equipped with AC and fans. The temperature was possible to be set perfectly.
Location of the hotel is perfect in the historical center. Very safe and with a lot of options close by.
The hotel and the room are very nice.
Good Location, free parking and easy to visit to the historical part of the city.
Just be aware of the noise, early in the morning (6am), of dogs barking and birds wisthling.
If you don't mind too much you are good to book :)
Location was excellent. The host was excellent. We were met on arrival and given a list of restaurants and sights to see. It was a favourite part of our trip to Mexico. The apartment was beautiful. And clean and comfortable. The big bowl of fruit was so good.
The location of the hotel is perfect - just by the malecon and near to the city centre. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and the wi-fi was working smoothly. There is also a parking by the hotel, where you can leave your car with no additional cost.
Parking works great in a private parking lot, and it's part of the price.
Great hotel, very well trained staff. Pool, terrace with view on the city.
Location is most central you can get. I would stay again.
This quirky little hotel is in a perfect position just inside the city walls and close to all attractions in Campeche. There’s no front-desk so you’re pretty much left to your own devices! My kind of hotel!
Great place directly in the city centre of Campeche, close to everything. The room was simple but very comfortable, kitchen had all I needed and the place was overall very clean. Can definitely recommend!
This place was phenomenal. I specifically loved the pool, kitchen with all cooking necessities, and the hammock in our room. The comfiest bed I’ve slept in in Mexico so far, as well!! perfect location
The hotel room was beautiful.
Great location, lovely view out the window to the city centre and church, nice pool. Super comfy beds (very soft, so maybe not for those who prefer them stiffer)
the location is great, right in the city center near bars and restaurants and close to the water to see the amazing sunset, private parking in the hotel, free water bottles at the room
Lovely hotel in the center of Campeche and near Calle 59. Staff are lovely and kind. The colonial part of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Very clean, spacious, and nice.
The kind of place you imagine staying when you book a holiday to Mexico. Cute courtyard, close to all the best places, and a lovely plunge pool to boot.
