Really great location for accessing Hot Water Beach. You can literally walk from the property directly on to the beach. No roads or sidewalks involved. There's even a shovel at the property so you can dig your personal hot tub on the beach during low tide.

Nice one bedroom house. Clean and comfy. Central to everything. Beautiful town. Gavin had stopped by and gave us advice on what to see. There was a house manual also full of local information.

Andrea was very welcoming, showing us around our unit and the property. She helped us with directions to our kayaking adventure the next morning. She also invited us to take a shower in their outdoor shower after we checked out, even providing towels for our use.

Extremely crowded in hot spring area. People are very selfish with hot pools and don’t tend to share the small area with the springs. When you do get the chance to make a small pool, it’s very fun and the water is great.

Don't come too early!
Don't come too early! The tide needs to go out to expose the heated area which you can feel by digging your feet into the sand. We arrived too early and dug for an hour in the wrong area for no reason, do the research on where to dig to save you time. Walk about 250 meters from the end car park back along the beach to find a rock outcrop. We found the heated area on the seaward side of the rocks. See the photo. We ended up digging with complete strangers to try to find a heated area and ended sharing our pool which was a nice touch. The springs are hot - almost unbearable, so a bucket to get seawater is a good idea to cool your pool down. Don't forget to use sunscreen too!

Hot Water Beach is amazing - dig your own pool and sit in a warm, free jaccuzi just by the ocean. First time we did it was under a full moon and thousands of stars - magical. The second day we did this the water was even too hot to sit in after a while. Fantastic experience - MUST DO!SandraNew Zealand

It was clean and cozy and a short walk down to hot water beach (we stopped at reception to hire a shovel, of course!). In the park shop, we were able to buy everything we needed to make ourselves a nice breakfast. We also bought a bottle of rosé, which we enjoyed on our patio that evening. We'd have happily stayed here for weeks rather than just a few days.
