What is a pleasant surprise to find this small rural B&B! Very quiet and peaceful location, comfortable bed, traditional Portuguese casa layout. We loved common room with chairs and fireplace. Peter, our host, made us feel welcomed and well cared. Breakfast was exquisite with homemade jams, honey, yogurt with granola and fruits, etc.
Mosteiro's River Beach is only 5 min drive and it was really nice to swim on hot day.
Keep in mind it is a small village, no restaurants or nightlife but we consider it as advantage. I hope more people will discover this place and stay with Peter and Lineke

However, in the middle of nowhere, so you have to eat in hotel. We got there at 1730 to be told we cannot eat there as no room in restaurant. With some persuasion, the 'head of catering' got us in, so we could eat. Book a table in advance or don't go. Room was fabulous as was the swimming pool with incredible views. We would definitely go again as long as we can book a table. Next time we will stay longer, it's that good.

The hotel is on top of a hill (so the final 1km is rather steep!) with superb views over the reservoir and valley below. Bike storage was absolutely no problem: we were invited to leave them in reception, though a locked room was also available if we had wanted it. Great pool!

The swimming pool is excellent and long enough (15 m) so you can actually swim, not just bath. Very pleasant place. Besides, there is a spa. Not the best I've seen, but anyway a plus.
