The decor, the setting, the comfortable bed, the staff, the breakfast and the fact the chef created a five course vegetarian dinner for us “off menu” that was out of this world delicious. This is a wonderful place to rest and recharge or to use as a base for exploring lakes and mountains.

The location of the hotel is excellent with picturesque mountain views from the balcony. The hotel manager was very welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and I recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Bohinj.

Very friendly hosts.That will gladly show you all the nice spots in the area (english speaking) Very nice and large apartment. Bathroom with washing machine! Bathroom/Kitchen every cupboard is filled with just about anything you need. Owner baked a cake and provided more homemade goodies. Follow the instructions and you are able to park your car right at the front door. Amazing views of the tiny town and the surrounding mountains. Wifi works well. Some may find the living room a bit dated, but we didn't mind and had a wonderful time.

Everything at Mama Minka was so perfect and we cannot wait to return another time. We were greeted by Palona, who is simply the most lovely, helpful, and energetic person ever, and everything was absolutely wonderful from that point forward. Our group of 7 adults and teens had just gotten off the trail from hut-to-hut backpacking for 5 days, so we needed to rest, do laundry, and find energy to enjoy the lake. The hostel is sparkling clean, has everything anyone could need, and both Palona and Rok went above and beyond to help us find a lost cell phone (in Lake Bled!), arrange transportation, and enjoy Lake Bohinj. The rooms are large and quiet and the neighborhood is so sweet and calm....just wonderful. We rented bikes from Mama Minka and spent a day touring the lake on designated bike paths, too. Seriously, this hostel and the caretakers are absolute gems! Cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay. We loved it so much.

The host was warm and welcoming, brought us a welcome snack and drink. The apartment was very homey and clean with everything you need for a stay, and it is barely 10 min drive to Lake Bohinj. It's quiet and great for staying in the area. There's free parking right in front of the house too. Two supermarkets (Spar and Mercator) are very close by.
