This place was recommended to me and we were overall pleased. The staff very friendly and professional and the size of the chalet was great for our needs (5 adults and 4 children). Chalet was clean and spacious. Hot water great. Children loved sharing bunk beds and running around the outside area. Food was very nice. Enjoyed all meals. Really liked the lay out of the place...walkways in nature etc. Staff very responsive in planning our trip and organising the safari prior to our arrival.

Mikumi Faru Tented Camp, hotel in Mikumi National Park

Featuring a garden with a children's playground, outdoor fireplace, and free Wifi, Mikumi Faru Tented Camp is a luxury tent in Morogoro. This luxury tent features an indoor pool, a terrace, and a bar....

It was A M A Z I N G! We were offered some other what they call luxury tents at different location, but hold on... Are we really looking for a luxury things in the wild? It would steal the show... Faru tents was something that we all enjoyed. There were 6 of us, including 2 kidos (2 and 4-year old). Fantastic and very hearty staff. I'm ashamed that I could not memorize all their names. There was one old man (Mze), who was looking after my 2-year old boy as though as he was his grandfather. There was even a little and cute playground, imagine, at the middle of wild savanna, and even swimming pool. It was so rewarding to sunk in the pool after spending pretty much the whole day on dusty Mikumi roads. Dinner, booze, breaky , all was good. I asked for local yogurt (it is called in Tanzania as mtindi) and they got me a large bottle of mtindi... And the final rewording thing was the price! Do not spend thousands for luxurious things, it does not worth it in the wild. Our bill for overweight, for 6 people with "all inclusive" was only $150.

Voyage Village, hotel in Mikumi National Park

With mountain views, Voyage Village is located in Mikumi and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden and terrace. There's a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free toiletries.

The owner, Tausi, was very welcoming and caring and tried to fulfil all our requests and wishes. She was very helpful in organizing our bus tickets and other extra wishes. The food was delicious. Tausi is a fantastic cook who prepared delicious vegetarian dishes for every meal with a special touch. The property is nice, very green and spacious, and open towards the National Park, so it might be possible to spot wild animals from your verandah. The rooms are spacious, with a lovely verandah looking out into the green bush. A big plus is the lovely dog, Kuno, who is very sweet and loves snuggles. There are also chickens and cats running around on the property. Sometimes, Pumbas also come to visit.

If you have visited a number of National Parks, you may find that there are less animals. If this is your first experience to drive your car or, take a safari, you will be pleased. Long grass makes animal spotting difficult at times.
