Red Lion Inn & Suites Auburn, hotel in Auburn

Red Lion Inn & Suites Auburn is ideally located just 30 miles from Sacramento with easy access from local freeways. The Sacramento International Airport is 35 miles away.

Breakfast roo. was unkept, spills not cleaned up, coffee made in a plastic jug, hot food not replaced as needed, staff member eating while stocking items. Parkinv not adequate- we had to wait for someone to leave to park our car. Our room was very hard to find- room numbers not in order and not as posted on the wall. Ants all over our bedside table. Medical type pad was left on our desk, shower items are out of reach-attached to wall outside of shower and our TV didn't work- front desk staff said "sorry I guess something is wrong with our cable" Very disappointing stay- will never go to a Red Lion again.

Auburn is beautiful, and even if you are only there for a few hours there are great places to eat, fun locations to explore, and sights to see. My family always makes sure to stop by ikeda's on our way out of town.

Auburn, California, is a charming town nestled in the heart of the Sierra Nevada foothills. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by its beauty and small-town charm. Auburn offers a perfect blend of natural wonders and historical treasures, making it a delightful destination for visitors.

Auburn is a great Sierra foothill community with a rich history and lots of great outdoor adventures (hiking, mountain biking, kayaking) nearby. There are plenty of great restaurants, galleries, live music venues and an old theater that routinely holds interesting events - such as the screening of a documentary "River Runner" while we were there. We ate at Crudo, a new asian/fusion restaurant and it was fabulous. Other guests ate at a wonderful Mexican restaurant near our inn. We walked from our hotel to the State Theater and drove down to the nearby confluence of the North Fork and South Fork of the American River for a wonderful picnic and some wading in the river.

    Motels are too expensive.

Motels are too expensive. Motels most won't work with you on anything. Just say that's the way it is here, were an expensive place. But it's not far enough in resort areas or national forest like lake Tahoe or with casinos like Reno to warrant such high prices, for average motel name brands. Does have good public transportation.

Auburn is historical in California history quaint old town freeway close with lots of great eateries and shops. One caution most everything in Auburn is on a hillside so be prepared to exercise your legs. Locals greet you with smiles and accolades very comfortably safe feeling while walking about or dining outdoors.

Auburn has a very relevant place in California History due to the early gold/silver mining/ railroad, and other such endeavors in California. Auburn is also a great base for a lengthy stay in order to enjoy the activities that the area can offer.. (river rafting; scenic drives, bike rides; etc.)

+ bed and pillows are great + room has plenty of natural light and great view to the city + kitchen is full equipped (super modern appliances) + easy self check in + despite being near the road, house has a very good sound proof windows keep in mind that this is not a hotel. this is more similar to a hostel with individual rooms and shared areas like kitchen and living room

The hotel was clean and was presented nicely. I was thrilled to have my dog with me. Thank you! However, I left early because the beds were hard as a rock, horrible! Unless you figure out the bed situation I will not stay there again nor recommend it. We come every year for Christmas to c Visit family in Auburn and it is such a bummer to have to search for another place.

Property seems newly renovated with fresh paint and landscaping. Our family booked 4 different rooms. All our rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Location was good- we walked to the bowling alley, drove 5min to the Foresthill Bridge and Old Town Auburn, and went to Awful Annie's and Ikeda across the highway.
