Comfort Inn Bishop, hotel in Big Pine

The Comfort Inn hotel in Bishop is surrounded by the majestic High Sierra Mountains and centrally located between Los Angeles and Reno.

Wonderful hotel off of the 395 in Bishop. Comfort Inn Bishop is in the perfect location - it’s not in the very center of town, so it’s quiet for a good night's rest. However, the hotel is close enough to the best restaurants (including Schat’s bakery) and major grocery stores (Vons, Smart & Final) to satisfy your most pressing needs. First and foremost, this place is VERY clean. While the rooms aren’t huge, they are perfect for a 2-3 day stay. Beds were very comfortable. Our queen room had a nice little table with dining chairs, a flat screen TV with cable, mini fridge, and a microwave. There there were also plenty of hooks for hanging clothes and I appreciate how the floor was laminate wood, which made it less smelly and dirty in general. The bathroom was also spotless (meaning free of mildew and mold). The bathroom sink is located the main room, which could pose a problem if you need to wash your hands at night and your roommates are light sleepers. The walls are a little thin, so sounds from other rooms can be heard, but it’s not bad.Our neighbors were well behaved, so no problem with music/partying or any other disturbances. The facilities are well stocked with washers/dryers and ice machines. Wifi works perfectly. There’s a pool and hot tub on site, but we didn’t use it so can’t speak to that detail. The breakfast bar was stocked with fresh food and filled with all the essentials. It wasn’t anything extraordinary, but was definitely good enough for a quick and satisfying meal before hitting the road. Expect your typical eggs, bacon, oatmeal, hot coffee, fresh bread, yogurt etc. The dining area is nicely decorated and clean. There’s hot water, coffee, and tea available at all hours of the day, Front desk staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.

Great coffee shop in town, I think it was called Brewed...

Great coffee shop in town, I think it was called Brewed Awakening, excellent coffee, food, and atmosphere. I had the fruity waffles which were super yummy! Big Pine is a great launching pad for the Ancient Bristlecone Pine forest, 4,000 year old trees just off the first exit off of 395 north!

Super clean room that has had a bit of a modern refresh. Was going to arrive late in the small town so I called ahead from Bishop, to check with innkeeper if I’d be able to find dinner near his property. He considerately insisted that I do not rush to get to him, but that I find a nice dinner before arriving in Big Pine. Not a “hurry and get here because I’m closing up” and I sure appreciated it. Thank you PJ.

This is the second time we stayed at this motel. Good value for money, the guy at the front desk, was very polite and helpful. Really like this place over others because they're dog friendly and there is no extra charge (tired of being fleeced by other hotels for traveling with a dog). Will def stay again should we return to the Big Pine area. The washroom is rather huge so that's a plus too.

I loved that this motel was easily accessible and stayed open later than most to check-in. I have to travel through here frequently and usually it's later in the evening. Most hotels won't let you check in past 10p.m. Check-in is until midnight here. The staff couldn't have been any friendlier and I also love that they are dog friendly.

It was really hot, we had an ac though, it just turned off in the middle of the night. The location was absolutely perfect, a really quick drive to big pine public parking to get us at the beginning of the north fork trail! Its a motel, so as you expect it to be, but check-in was easy.

My flight into Las Vegas was delayed. As a result I did not arrive at the hotel until 2am. The proprietor of the hotel told me to call him when I arrived and he would meet me with my room key. Thank you for accommodating my late arrival.
