Wonderful hotel off of the 395 in Bishop. Comfort Inn Bishop is in the perfect location - it’s not in the very center of town, so it’s quiet for a good night's rest. However, the hotel is close enough to the best restaurants (including Schat’s bakery) and major grocery stores (Vons, Smart & Final) to satisfy your most pressing needs.
First and foremost, this place is VERY clean. While the rooms aren’t huge, they are perfect for a 2-3 day stay. Beds were very comfortable. Our queen room had a nice little table with dining chairs, a flat screen TV with cable, mini fridge, and a microwave. There there were also plenty of hooks for hanging clothes and I appreciate how the floor was laminate wood, which made it less smelly and dirty in general.
The bathroom was also spotless (meaning free of mildew and mold). The bathroom sink is located the main room, which could pose a problem if you need to wash your hands at night and your roommates are light sleepers.
The walls are a little thin, so sounds from other rooms can be heard, but it’s not bad.Our neighbors were well behaved, so no problem with music/partying or any other disturbances.
The facilities are well stocked with washers/dryers and ice machines. Wifi works perfectly. There’s a pool and hot tub on site, but we didn’t use it so can’t speak to that detail.
The breakfast bar was stocked with fresh food and filled with all the essentials. It wasn’t anything extraordinary, but was definitely good enough for a quick and satisfying meal before hitting the road. Expect your typical eggs, bacon, oatmeal, hot coffee, fresh bread, yogurt etc. The dining area is nicely decorated and clean. There’s hot water, coffee, and tea available at all hours of the day,
Front desk staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.

It is a warm and welcoming place and those sharing the space were very respectful of each other. I was just passing through but would have enjoyed spending more time at the hostel itself. I will next time.

Bishop is a small town that offers a bunch of outdoor recreation. We mainly go for the rock climbing in the area. It is also a great stop if you're headed to Mammoth, June Lake, Yosemite, etc. from the south. It's more or less our home away from home. Due to the small nature of the town, it's very easy to meet locals that you could possibly see on your next visit, and it's easy to get around and to know which spots to get gas and food from. For food, we recommend the taco truck (Taqueria mi Guadalajara), Indiego, and Erick Schat's. For climbing gear, my favorite would be the mammoth gear exchange.

We just stayed for the night on our way out of Yosemite NP. Hard to comment with that limited stay. Getting to the City is easy if you love Sierra mountains. You need a taxi. I would explore Bishop more in future. Nice access point to Sierra.

Bishop is a wonderful place for outdoor activities pretty much anytime of year. I had passed through town many times and finally had the opportunity to to spend a week. I barely scratched the surface of this small town. I would start the day at Pupfish Cafe or Black Sheep Coffee Roasters for coffee and a light breakfast. Spellbinder Books was definitely worth a visit as I found a few books to add to my traveling collection. There are off-road and hiking trails all around the surrounding area, with plenty of camping and fishing opportunities as well. The Laws Railroad Museum is a surprising treat.

I love Bishop & the Eastern Sierra... I come here often and generally come to Bishop for Mule Days each year but have also come for a Pack Trip and also fishing. I love this little town and the ability to walk down the main street to eat & shop... this trip we did some fishing and had great success.

Always a good stay with friendly staff and simple...
Always a good stay with friendly staff and simple accommodations that are sufficient to get a good night rest and also make friendships. Super convenient and clean. I would suggest they add a compost bin to their trash and recycling bin area.
If you are visiting Mammoth Lake and doesn’t want to pay crazy amount at the village this is the best place you can stay in Bishop. It’s appx 45 min to mammoth village. Depending on snow conditions at 395 it can take 1 hour to get to the village. We stayed with our dog, there is $25 per night pet fee. Let them know before you check in since you got pet you can only stay at first floor. It was really clean and staff was friendly. Best hotel breakfast ever.
Great room, equiped with coffeemaker, microwave and fridge, clean and nice bathroom, good bed. Friendly staff. We didn't really notice much of the negative remarks other reviews mentioned. Yes, sometimes you could hear your neighbor a little bit, but it wasn't that bad. And the room looked quite modern (we've seen more dated interiors in other hotels).
The room was clean and freshly painted. It was very quiet, as requested, at the rear of the building. No additional charge for the dogs was a huge plus, most motels charge extra for this, some as much as $25 per dog, and I resent paying this as they are no additional work, it's not like they spend hours in the shower and use extra towels...
Both our private room and the shared facilities were clean and comfortable. My kids enjoyed the outdoor spaces. I liked that it felt like we had more privacy than we would at a traditional hotel or motel.
It was quiet clean comfortable and close to wherever I need to go if anybody is familiar with Bishop they will learn that linne road is much easier than main street for getting back-and-forth through town
The place is well-situated, and it was extremely quiet at night. As a converted house, the place has more atmosphere and charm than other relatively inexpensive places to stay in Bishop.
We were gone before 6 am so I have no idea about the breakfast. The pool was in working order, our room was clean and we were left 4 towels which a lot of hotels are no longer doing.
Great location, walking distance from bakeries, bars & restaurants in Bishop. The room was comfortable and quiet. The online check-in and room code system was convenient.
The room was big, cozy and clean with a balcony facing the swimming pool. The pool was nice and open till late. The hotel sign is every instagram's account dream.
The room was amazing and huge and super comfy! Central to main part of Bishop. Easy parking. Comfy beds, nice table and chairs. Huge sink /vanity area.
