Off Season meant only 2 restaurants open so we ate there lots of construction going on due to recent hurricane damage to some homes. Down town had 2 city blocks closed due to a new tower being added to -, Daytona Beach, Key West - Not crowded at all. Rent bikes or better yet a golf cart to tour the Island. Lovely homes and trees & floral & fauna. & Great beaches. If you love salt water fishing, this is the place!

The entire island was in recovery and restoration from hurricane Ian last November 2022. Yes, much work has been done, but the island and approaching area from Venice going south is in bad shape. Trees dead right where they fell during the storm. Blue tarps on roofs. Businesses abandoned, signs blown out and metal in trees from the storm. It's actually very sad. However, upscale and affluent properties look as good as new. Yes, the yacht clubs, premier properties, golf clubs and million dollar homes have been rebuilt and restored. It may be a seasonal thing, but home vacancy is very high.

Boca Grande is a charming small historic town off Florida's west coast. The downtown is compact with nice shops. We went in their off season so it was exceptionally quiet with many restaurants not yet open for the season. Our breakfast at the Outlet Restaurant and dinner at South Beach were exceptional.
