Just beautiful!!!! So peaceful! We sat on the porch and watched the peacocks and had coffee. It was like being transported back in time! Delicious breakfast included daily! The best grits I’ve ever had!

Township is old and well founded.
Township is old and well founded. Lacks things to do but has a proportionate amount of businesses. Not a tourist site and although it has an upscale side, the rest seems very ghetto and is creepy to navigate in with all of its low class residents. Very uncomfortable glares from the locals or maybe there just defensive. Obviously an ex slave town as there are plantations there and that could be the root of the lingering vibe.

Historic district is great, and a number of attractions and points of interest are within easy access. Both Baton Rouge and New Orleans are less than an hour's drive under ideal conditions. A fair amount of natural beauty and great people and dining options exist, but visitors should be prepared for some serious large scale industry in the area.

Basically there is nothing at all in Donaldsonville, there were only a few fast food places close to the hotel. We had to drive 20minutes away to find a restaurant that was open. Probably didn’t help that it was Sunday!
A charming hotel in a perfect location to driving down the downstream section of the Great River Road and visit plantations along the way. Bedrooms are quiet and nicely arranged in a Louisiana style. There is a large parking place next to the hotel. Good food is served at the restaurant, and Gonzales offers a large choice of restaurants at a 30-min drive from the hotel. It's worth visiting the residential area with typical Louisiana-style houses nearby the hotel.
Stayed for 4 nights. Lovely place located in a renovated and partly converted historic building in close proximity to the Mississippi River and historic Donaldsonville. Very friendly and helpful staff. We got assigned to a spacious room with a large window-front (but there's indeed windowless rooms there as well...). The room was quiet and clean with comfortable bed, a fridge and a tv-set. We'd definitely stay here again if we're ever back this way...
I was very impressed with this hotel. I checked in near 9:00 p.m. The staff member who pulled up my information had a smile on her face and told me of the hotel and it’s surroundings. The breakfast offered was very nice and a very nice lady was in the dining area to assist.
I will definitely recommend this hotel in hopes I’ll have the opportunity to stay again.
Clean and nice place to stay for one or a few nights. Well communicated for tourists. Room was spacious, WIFI was working fine. Service was supportive. There was new payment way for washing mashines with some issues with payments with card. But the service helped us and we were able to do the laundry in the hotel nearby.
Charming historic building in downtown Donaldsonville. Skip the mind-numbing, bland suburbia of Gonzales and stay in a quaint town. Lydia and her spouse have done a great job with the Inn. We'd definitely stay there again.
This hotel is OK as a base for visiting local historical plantations. However, keep in mind that this area of Louisiana is very industrial and the hotel is right on a major road. The breakfast was good.
The facility and staff at the hotel were excellent. Getting my security deposit back on Sunday was impossible. The center that handles that is closed on Sunday.
