This hotel was very nice and comfortable, and the staff were absolutely amazing. We accidentally left two coats in our room and they shipped them back to us free of charge! Cannot say enough good things about this hotel and staff

Location was convenient and it was nice to have a restaurant attached to the hotel. The pool looked lovely, although we did not swim. Rooms were a bit dated, but clean - and the beds were very comfortable. I loved their all day coffee service in the lobby (at least, it seemed like it was available all day!)

I travel here frequently and enjoy the people, food and history of not only Effingham but the surrounding areas. You can can travel 30-40 minutes in any direction and experience history that you may not have known even existed. It is easy to get around and close to major highways for quick access to other areas to explore.

I wanted to pay with cash at the property and when I tried, I learned it would be an additional $200. I did not see that listed anywhere on the website and I think that is an important bit of information. Deposits are listed for credit cards why not cash payments also.

Is a great town!!
Is a great town!! I liked golden corral and Walmart which was close to the best western. My only bad experience was the pictures of best western did not match the inside of the hotel. Otherwise I wish I could have stayed and explored more!!

FRIENDLY FOLK!
FRIENDLY FOLK!
We drove around the neighborhood, and went to Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Everything was neat as a pin, we would move to Effingham in a minute if we had the opportunity.
Great town for a meal break or a night. Good gas prices (best we could find in the region) so that's a good reason to stop, too. Easy access to get back on the highway.

We met family half way and it happened to be Effingham.
We met family half way and it happened to be Effingham. We went to Tuscan Hills Winery. It was fun. Tasted some wine and had cheeses and crackers to go with it. We will definitely meet up in Effingham again.
The Only positive thing I have to say about this hotel is that they were able to provide us a room. We were traveling from Missouri to Indiana. My car broke down in Effingham had to stay overnight in a hotel for my car to be fixed every hotel that I called was booked. This was the only hotel that was available for a room even though I was very much appreciative of their being availability. The stay on the other hand was a nightmare. They did allow my dog to stay who was traveling with us, and they also had a breakfast in the morning
The second day of our stay we were locked out so we had to go downstairs and have new keys made. When we did get in the room, we saw that housekeeping forgot to clean the room. No trash emptied, no replacement towels, beds were not made, etc... once again, we had to go downstairs and get more towels and a garbage bag to empty our trash. Your cable channels are very poor and the remote is slow. We used to enjoy staying at your hotels but this one has caused us to rethink ever staying there again.
Priceline and this hotel were horrible! Hot tub doesn’t work, door was open upon arrival, asked for extra pillows and was told it was an up charge of $10 per pillow. Priceline won’t help and instead causes more frustration!!!
The hotel was very accommodating with our two cats! The staff were cat people and they were very helpful. They were very responsive when we called ahead with questions and also when we had to move our booking by one night.
The hotel was clean. The staff was pleasant. The bed was good. It’s not the Mandarin Inn but it was conveniently located. The breakfast was a good experience. We were very satisfied.
Very polite & friendly staff. Accommodated all my needs. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.
This is the only place I will stay when coming through Effingham again.
It was a very nice and clean hotel! The staff was friendly and the breakfast was simple, but just what we needed. We ended up staying here on our way home as well.
