We stayed here for 4 nights in April while we explored the Everglades, Florida Keys and Miami.
Location: Very well-situated, close to the Everglades where we spent a lot of our time. It was just a 40 minute to 1 hour drive away from Miami. Lots of restaurants in the vicinity. Within walking-distance of a few fast-food places. The owner gave us a map of all of the food in the area when we arrived.
Parking: Ample parking available onsite with a space for you right outside your room.
WiFi: No connectivity issues.
Bed: Comfortable and large. We had some trouble with the pillows though. They were too soft or too hard.
Swimming Pool: Clean and lovely! I did not swim but my partner did and said it was very nice. The pool is fenced with recliners for you to sunbathe on.
Staff: Very friendly and down-to-earth. Helpful and incredibly lovely. You could really tell that they care a lot about the property!
Bathroom: Shower and toilet is separate from bathroom sink area. Toiletries and towels were provided.
Fridge: We had a small fridge in which we were able to store our food and drinks.
Located on Route 1 and 2.5 mi from downtown Homestead, Holiday Inn Express features an outdoor pool and patio. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel.

Not a destination, but perfect for passing through.
Not a destination, but perfect for passing through. I was on my way to dive in Key Largo. All I needed was a good night's rest without paying for an expensive room in Key Largo. Florida City/Homestead was 30 minutes out, just right for a late arrival and early departure. Plenty of affordable food choices and services.

The location was wonderful.
The location was wonderful. The area had various things to do. Everyone should make it their first and only stop before heading south into the other keys, experience them all, then return back to Florida City and enjoy the rest of your stay. Don't forget to book a room at Holiday Inn Express for a great time, and awesome breakfast and dip in their very clean pool.

I liked best Everglades and Biscayne National Parks that are close to Florida City. Coral Castle was also very interesting. The outlet mall had some good deals and numerous restaurants are in close proximity. Both O'Deeny's and Yardie Spice restaurants make excellent and unique meals.

I'm a Miami resident and had family who lived here in the past so am well familiar with Florida City. Great waypoint for Robert is Here, the Everglades, the big mall, the upper Keys. Pretty long drive from Miami but easy to find everything in this gateway town.

Was informed that city was an unsafe area and full of crime.
Was informed that city was an unsafe area and full of crime. But that didn’t seem to be the case.
Besides the idiot drivers bearing Florida license plates, driving in Florida City with the layout was good. Be prepared to be cut off repeatedly. But this epidemic was everywhere in Florida.
Florida City was centrally located to our sightseeing areas and much more affordable than others.
Lots of great eateries.
Take an airboat tour. (Groupon)
Take your kids to “Robert is Here”
Just don’t shop at the Wal-Mart thinking it’ll be like your own local Wal-Mart. It’s the worst.
The hotel building wasn't likeable to my satisfaction it's also located in a terrible area. The city is highly dangerous in a high crime area with drug addicts drug activity prostitution gang violence and robbery. The hotel price is over priced Budget motel isn't worth the asking price. my stay at budget was horrible and I don't recommend to visit.
What a lovely property! The curb appeal and landscaping are bar none the best that I have seen in quite some time. Attention to detail in this area is apparent. The rooms were comfy but could have been cleaner. Nothing terrible, just the little touches would make good, great. Breakfast was fantastic! This place is a MUST stay in Florida City!
Flew in to Fort Lauderdale in the evening on a trip to the Keys and this hotel was perfectly located to start on our way early the next day. We visited Robert is Here fruit stand located conveniently nearby and also a Walmart less than 2 miles away to stock up on picnic supplies for the trip.
It is great place to stay. Room clean and comfortable , having microwave and refrigerator are definitely big plus. Hotel offers good breakfast that includes drinks (coffee and juices), eggs and sausages, yogurts and fruits. Also it have large pool and recreational area
The location was good and convenient for a stopover on the way south to the Florida Keys. Liked the concept of having 3 sleeping areas available. It was a fairly new hotel and had lots of USB ports and electrical outlets for electronics.
They upkeep the exterior of the hotel pretty nice. The breakfast was cool too. The room was ok as far as amenities and the way its decorated. The parking was nice. The way the room are positioned was kinda cool too.
The location is perfect to visit in and around the keys. Also there are a lot of restaurants and activities very close to the hotel. The breakfast was great and the staff very friendly!
Very nice and convenient hotel . Harry at front desk was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel had very nice and comfortable public areas and staff was very polite.
I liked the location for day trips and the value. The Florida turnpike brings you close to the hotel and traveling to the Florida Keys is very convinient.
