I believe this is a very safe area for an elderly person...
I believe this is a very safe area for an elderly person traveling with a small pet. I feel very safe in Hoover and this hotel. I was impressed with the area everything was close enough to get too. The River chase area was absolutely gorgeous. My wife and I are thinking about moving to the area after talking with some of the people that live there.

We stayed in Hoover for the SEC baseball tournament.
We stayed in Hoover for the SEC baseball tournament. We thought the area was really nice. Would have loved to stay longer to enjoy the local food and shop more. If you are going to the SEC tournament or that arena, I recommend staying in this area.

Unfortunately Hoover is under repair for an old facility...
Unfortunately Hoover is under repair for an old facility with slow elevators that smell like their age; the construction restrictions limited availability of parking. The breakfast was simply awful, serve a great breakfast or none at all. The room was clean with old carpeting and room service/cleaning was good.
