Vacation is a time to sleep in.

Vacation is a time to sleep in. But the sunrise is not to be missed! The mornings are spectacular! We had 2 deer right in front of the deck once. Eagles seen every morning, along with all the birds across at St. Vincent Island. So peaceful. We kayaked to St Vincent. Walked on the gulf side beach. It's like your own private beach with great seashells. Also went down past the visitors entrance to check out the unique trees. This area is perfect for fishing. We loved the Port St. Joe Bay for kayak fishing. 15 minute drive away. Lots of steps to enter from the parking area. The only time it was a bother was carrying up luggage. I hope to visit here again.

The beach was beautiful - much of it was kept natural and untouched. It was not overly commercialized with large condos and buildings. Houses and rentals were not packed into every space like some beaches. It is a great place for relaxation - not crowded or noisy. The beaches were clean. I highly recommend Skully's. It's a great local hole-in-the-wall place with fantastic low country boil and gumbo. Get there early and bring cash - no credit cards accepted.
