Small town limited for much beyond fast food.
Small town limited for much beyond fast food. Expensive accommodations at primary hotel, but lack of basics…refrigerator, microwave and advertised Internet was nonexistent even on a slow day that we were there. Clean and comfortable, but seriously lacking in typical services. Staff was not especially friendly either. We will mot return not can we recommend hotel at the inflated price compared to any other hotels in the area. Restaurant was very good…the most redeeming factor there!

Kayenta is the go-to town if you're planning a day or 2 in Monument Valley. It has all of the basic amenities you need: gas station, accommodation, restaurants, fast food, food shop, but that's it. Great if you're looking for a simple stay as a pitstop for your Monument Valley days.

Convenient location for Monument Valley, local population making the most of it too, costs verse value quite low.
There is nothing much to recommend Kayenta, if we were to plan a trip again we would avoid staying here

We stayed in Kayenta because of closest location available...
We stayed in Kayenta because of closest location available to Monument Valley. The town offers NO other advantages. If I were booking here again I would likely stay at another lodging;. There is a Hampton Inn that looked attractive.
There was only one restaurant that we saw; very busy. I would rate it mediocre. Otherwise the options were fast food.

The Monument Valley was beautiful!
The Monument Valley was beautiful! I would like to come back, but I would take the guided tour. The 17 mile drive would be hard any any car. The horse back tour would be great too as both tours are able to go places that you are not allowed to go.

It is sensory overload from Williams, AZ to Durango, CO, with Kayenta in the middle and a great place for a night long respite. We did not allow enough time to really enjoy this beautiful setting. Grand Canyon, South Rim, stunning rock formations on the drive to Kayenta, and the monuments just north of town, featuring El Capitain are other worldly. We arrive too late to enjoy the local cuisine. Had a great sleep at the Wetherill.
This is a very unique area of NE Arizona. If far surpassed what we were expecting. The Wetherill is rich in history. A great gift shop and at the gateway to El Capitain. Wish we would have had another day to explore the Monument Park. Certainly will return. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Did not view the pool area as we arrived at 7:30 pm from the Grand Canyon and left at 9 the next morning for 4 Corners monument and the long but beautiful drive through Southern Colorado. Great jumping off place in Kayenta.
Kayenta is so small, location is not an issue. We had a single queen bed and although the room had all the amenities, it was very crammed in the layout. I think a room with two beds probably had a more traditional layout. Bathroom had a new tub surround. We didn’t use the pool, but the breakfast room was so nicely done. Continental breakfast was basic but the same as we encountered at other motels. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good value for a one night stop over on a road trip to see Monument Valley.
The hotel is convenient for getting to Monument Valley. The room/sheets were clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. That's really about it. No frills motel. While there is a pool, it overlooks the gas station next door. The wifi was not working and very little to eat in town (we went to the supermarket and had a little picnic in the pool area). Fine for a night but I wouldn't recommend it for more than that. Happy to stay and support a motel on Navajo territory.
Breakfast was great, and the room was clean and updated. Had a mini fridge, and coffee. Coffee was also available throughout the day in the lobby which is also a bonus. FYI Masks are required inside the hotel. The cultural stop next door was great. Next door to a Sonic and Burger King. Grocery store within walking distance. The hotel lobby has a cute gift shop with cultural items. This is the best place in town, as the options are limited.
Couldn't have asked for a better stay, especially for location. Not much around Kayenta itself but the hotel was like an oasis. The rooms were perfect for a 2-night stay. The beds were comfortable, and the room was clean, and it had one of the better breakfast spreads and available eating space of all the hotels during this particular trip. I would stay again if ever passing thru the area on another road trip.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant downstairs was cozy but also very busy in the evening, so I recommend making a reservation. The food was delicious! Breakfast options were also good.
The hotel is located about half an hour away from Monument Valley, fast food restaurants and a supermarket are very close by.
Everything was BIG - and a BIG flatscreen TV with many interesting channels provided good evening entertainment. An amazing BIG breakfast freshly cooked to order made eating at lunchtime irrelevant - and a small evening meal at nearby McDonalds or Burger King the only realistic option...
The location worked well near Monument Valley coming from Flagstaff and going to Page. I got a second-floor room in the farthest back corner, and it was quiet and had a great view. It was hot and the pool looked very nice but we had no time to use it.
Nice place near the Monument Valley!
Room was clean and nice!
The reception was very friendly!
Breakfast was a plus!
There were 2 dogs in the parking that were super friendly, not sure they're from the property, but they should be theirs :-)
Very pretty ambience in Navajo style, very comfortable beds, very good bathroom, nice toiletries. Delicious breakfast; good choice of cooked dishes, fruit, pastries. Great choices of food for dinner. All staff polite, friendly and informative.
Location in proximity to Monument Valley was good. Kayenta is about as close a you'll get without paying the exorbitant prices to stay in Monument Valley itself. The bathroom was a good size, as was the bed. And the staff were friendly.
We traveled with our pet. We had no issue. We used this option due to an issue with an airbnb at Monument Valley. It was the best decision. I was surprised of how clean and relaxed the hotel was. Check in and check out were smooth.
