Cutest little historical Texas town that is beginning to look like Fredericksburg. It's not as busy yet, so visit while it still has that 150 yr old charm and old world ambience. The citizens are Texas congeniality examples.

Llano is the historical sight.
Llano is the historical sight. There are traditional western buildings and churches in Llano you would like to see. This place is full of American history and culture. There is the best Coopers bbq in Llano. Every time when I travel there I visit Coopers bbq for many years. Another important thing that brings me to Llano again and again is it’s location close to the unique Enchanted Rock.

Llano is very small town and most of the shops close at 5pm. We didn't see a whole lot of Llano, but enjoyed the BBQ from Coopers and were close enough to hiking at Inks Lake State Park and a couple of wineries.

Llano is cute sleepy town with some nice “antique” stores, decent restaurants, close to enchanted rock and central to other hill country attractions but without the tourist trap feel of Fredericksburg.

Fuel local coffee house . Love it.
Fuel local coffee house . Love it. The local museum is quaint and clean and quiet . Lots of interesting info about the area’s history ... in loved it - and I’m not a museum er... 😀. Of course , Coopers bbq is an absolute must.
The cabin was so quaint, well decorated, and very clean. Absolutely lovely location in the Texas Hill Country. White tale deer in the early morning and evening. neighboring cows with calves came to visit as well. No worries, all were on their side of the fence. The cabin was close to restaurants, wineries, and wonderful state parks for hiking, fishing, boating, or swimming. owners were kind and welcoming and only there as needed.
The location is ideal being right across the street from the river, Coopers BBQ, and the Ramblin' Rose dancehall. The rest of Llano is just right around the corner. The room was clean and a good value considering what the better known hotel chains were going for. The bathroom and shower were especially clean.
Charming and beautifully updated, our stay in the Ratliff Retreat was perfect - comfortable bed, well-appointed and very hospitable hosts, just steps from downtown Llano!!! We will definitely stay here again!!! Thank you to our wonderful hosts for making our night away so enjoyable!!!
The rooms were recently remodeled beautifully.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Kingsland, Marble Falls, Llano, Horseshoe Bay and surrounding areas because it’s definitely worth it!
