The Genevieve, hotel in Santa Ynez

Nestled in the beautiful wine country of Santa Ynez, California, this Victorian hotel offers a gourmet breakfast and spa services. All guest rooms feature a luxurious spa bath.

My wife got sick on March 2nd and on Mar 3 I realized we could not take this trip. I called them on the 3rd to cancel the stay, called back on the 4th and then the 5th. The manager, Christopher never once called me back.... I never got my money back, they also charged an additional $155 for penalty fee plus the amount I paid booking.com and refused to give me any credit at on....I paid for two night and got nothing, the Mgr finally sent me an email and said they would give me $100 credit for dinner next time I am in town. After that, the staff and him treat us like we are bad people... for wanting to stay at the hotel but could not make it due to getting sick. Extremely unprofessional from the top all the way down to the staff. Just a very negative energy for such a nice place. I will never book this place again...to many other great place to go with staff who appreciate their clients. So rude..cannot stress enough

King Frederik Inn, hotel in Santa Ynez

Immerse yourself in the Danish tradition of 'hygge' at the King Frederik Inn, a captivating boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Solvang, California.

The location of the King Frederik Inn cannot be beat. How lovely to be so close to a park and a trolley stop! And all the check-in staff were helpful and accommodating. We felt completely safe and at ease on this property. It is a good value. Having said that, there are areas that perhaps are a little worn but everything is clean and we had no trouble sleeping through the night. We noticed that there was a boisterous and happy senior cycling club on the premises, and that was fun to observe. The pool is well cared for, although we did not use it.

Svendsgaard's Lodge- Americas Best Value Inn & Suites, hotel in Santa Ynez

Located in the heart of the Danish Village, this nonsmoking Solvang hotel features a seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub. All guest rooms offer free Wi-Fi.

Check in was not very friendly. The room was old and cold. Curtain was dusty. Breakfast was day possibly week old pastries, no coffee. They hand you a coffee pack that you have to go to your room to make. They advertise tv service and they play recorded shows. There was no news channel. The location is good. I WILL NEVER STAY AT THAT HOTEL AGAIN. AND I AM PUBLISHING MY TRIP ADVISOR OPINION.

I love the area - however, I wanted to purchase some Chumash Indian artifacts - baskets, pottery, jewelry, but didn't see or know where to go to buy them. The Chumash Cultural center/museum was not open, which was a disappointment! I will go back to visit it when it opens! I would go there again - the Cachuma Lake was beautiful! Thanks for a great time!

Santa Ynez is a unique Valley, Beautiful with many site seeing ventures to fulfill your adventuresome side. Try your hand at gambling - from slots to video poker. Something for frugal spenders to "The Sky Is The Limits" budgets. Sweet tooth lovers cannot leave without devouring at least a Danish pastry and a late. For wine lovers - you require more than a week-end to taste the fruits-of-the-valleys. I'll drink to that! Feel like a trekking, try sightseeing a couple of notable missions - Santa Ynez has them.

Lovely area, a number of beautiful small villages with great wine tasting and excellent vineyards - fully recommend going on a guided vineyard tour, but just dropping into wine tasting shops works well if strapped for time!

We very much enjoyed FOR FRIENDS INN in Santa Ynez. The room was warm and cozy and the staff and owners were very hospitable. Had an excellent dinner at The Brothers restaurant. Servings were very large and we were happy splitting an entry. We will return.
