Really nice walkable city with friendly people and interesting sites. The food scene is still developing: we were looking for amazing seafood experience like in Charleston, but it was not as good as expected. All in all a nice one night stay. The best thing was our hotel, Thompson by Hyatt.

Loved most of the food (much of it was exceptional) and historical buildings and museums.
Should have probably rented a car for at least a day for our length stay. No plantation homes to see here. Needed to drive up toward Charleston.
The biggest complaint I have was the nearly overwhelming amount of homeless on the streets. Oh and no good coffee shops open anywhere in the evenings. (We’re not drinkers)
If I ever go again it would be 5 nights max and would reserve dinner at the pink house for sure.
The dinner river cruise was fine but don’t expect to see much. And don’t package a river cruise AND a dinner cruise. My bad on that.

I love walking on River Street the going seeing all the old historical homes. Also love the close proximity to Tybee Island. However, didn't care for the Tanger Outlet mall on Pooler, they could have added more stores, and also have better clothing options.

We absolutely loved our trip to Savannah.
We absolutely loved our trip to Savannah. The scenery was incredible, the food was wonderful, and there was so much to do. If you have kids, I highly highly recommend visiting the SCAD campus. They have an immersive experience that goes through the story of how SCAD was founded and my 8-year-old daughter absolutely loved it. Right across the street is Gryphon, where we had afternoon tea. She was so impressed by the fact that it was a "real tea party". We also loved our dinner at The Treylor Park. Of course, it is a short drive over to Tybee, where we loved the beach and pizza from Huc-A-Poos.

The Hampton Inn was terrible.
The Hampton Inn was terrible. Rooms were to be ready at 4:00. We did not get in until 5:30. Many people were still waiting at 6:15.
There was a sign on the bathroom mirror stating they would clean rooms every other day. We were there Wednesday - Saturday and no one ever came to our room. We requested more towels and for the trash to be removed on Friday but they never came. Noise above us and beside us wss terrible. The hotel was very short staffed and very unconcerned.
The location of Marshall House was great - very walkable to the riverfront and all downtown attractions. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. Our room was a "petite queen", which was small but charming. (Our view was of the roof, but no big deal.} I loved the free breakfast and wine social each night we were there. They even had a harpist the second night, which was phenomenal, as she took requests from everything from Led Zepplin to Canon in D.
The location is perfect. We've been going to savannah for over 25 years and this is the best location we've ever stayed before. It's close to downtown, waterfront, city market, parks, restaurants, etc. The staff was exceptional. Always someone there with an answer and the most polite and nicest staff ever. Beds were comfortable, Wi-Fi was great. It's very quiet for an old Inn. I wasn't expecting that.
A really great position and an easy walk to pretty much everything downtown. The hotel has a large public areas that all look vey smart and the rooms are also a decent size. All was very clean and the staff friendly and helpful
Breakfast in the Swamp fox restaurant was great and had dinner one evening (Halibut, scallops with strawberries - beautifully prepared and delicious)
Overall the room was cheap, clean and updated. There was a desk and chair available. Hotel was conveniently located to a drug store, fast food places and a major highway (5 miles) that leads directly into downtown Savannah. The wifi worked well. On this trip, me and my fellow travelers were gone for must of the stay and only used the room to crash and sleep at night.
The breakfast had no milk for the cereal 2 mornings out of 3. Went down at time stated for breakfast, lady just starting the oatmeal so it was no where near ready. It was a shame because they had many great toppings for the oatmeal. Manager stated delivery trucks not coming for many Savannah area hotels/restaurants. I say go to Kroger and pick up some milk.
Parking was great at the hotel, although a little expensive. The breakfast was very good. The room was nice and clean, but due to COVID, we had to ask for service and be explicit as to what we needed. You only got what you asked them to do. Overall, it was a good experience and convenient to downtown Savannah.
Of all the hotels/motels we reviewed in the area, this one had the best rating for the price. Our room was comfortable and a nice size. It is not too far from historic downtown Savannah. Quite a few items for breakfast. We booked for one night but decided to spend two more and had no hassle making the change.
You get what you pay for.
Not the best hotel but definitely a decent hotel for the price during peak season.
It's around 15 min from Savannah historic district. So not a lot of restaurant options around if you don't want to drive.
The staff were friendly specially the old couple trying to clean the rooms.
The hotel is ideally located for a walk around old Savannah. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The wine hour was a nice treat. The breakfast was exceptional - made to order and special (waffles with a generous layer of pecans). The room was big and had a pleasant ambiance.
Love that the location is just outside of the main downtown area of Savannah. Perfect location for dogs with the dog park and river walk just across the street. The food at the restaurant is absolutely delicious. Such a perfect stay, even for just 1 night.
Location was very near downtown Historic Savannah. Lots of places to choose from for dining out. Very close to a Super Walmart. Hotel stay was very nice, beds were comfortable, walls were thick enough that next door occupants were not too loud.
The location is perfect and close to many shops and necessities for lower downtown Savannah. and I enjoyed feeling like I had a little apartment to go back to for relaxing during the day rather than a hotel room
Close to all the downtown action. Lots of restaurants nearby. Parking in a close ramp worked well. We got in late and took a little exploration to find our way. Once we did, it all worked out great.
