The location of the King Frederik Inn cannot be beat. How lovely to be so close to a park and a trolley stop! And all the check-in staff were helpful and accommodating. We felt completely safe and at ease on this property. It is a good value. Having said that, there are areas that perhaps are a little worn but everything is clean and we had no trouble sleeping through the night. We noticed that there was a boisterous and happy senior cycling club on the premises, and that was fun to observe. The pool is well cared for, although we did not use it.

The room was large, clean, a two person hot tub and bathroom shower. Excellent price for the room and convenient location to our destination. A lot of excellent food and wine locations nearby

Check in was not very friendly. The room was old and cold. Curtain was dusty. Breakfast was day possibly week old pastries, no coffee. They hand you a coffee pack that you have to go to your room to make. They advertise tv service and they play recorded shows. There was no news channel.
The location is good.
I WILL NEVER STAY AT THAT HOTEL AGAIN. AND I AM PUBLISHING MY TRIP ADVISOR OPINION.

This hotel saved our trip! The room was huge and so well decorated! We came on a rainy weekend and were booked at another hotel that has loud street noise. We were able to change to this hotel last minute and were so glad we did! The rooms are set back away from the street, in the center of town. Even though it was rainy, there was enough space to stay in the room and also enjoy the common areas. The espresso machine in the room was a plus, bed was very comfy and the shower was huge! We loved the wine and cheese time too. I would highly recommend!

The breakfast was good - fresh baked pastry’s and nice selection of cereal etc. the firepits, comfortable furniture outside, dog friendly, amazing restaurants nearby, bikes and bike trail!
This Solvang, California inn offers a free hot breakfast and an on-site spa that features select services. Free WiFi is available. The Los Padres National Forest is a short drive from the hotel.
Solvang is pretty and green in the spring. The summer will be hot and dry! Even in March, many tourists were in town. The unfortunate side effect is that some local restaurant staff could be a LOT nicer.
Vin & Mad has an incredible dinner for us! I recommend this restaurant but be prepared for stairs and an uphill if you are traveling with someone that may have limited mobility.
Breakfast can be challenging, long waits even in the off season.
Parking can be a challenge for those with mobility issues as well.

Cute little Central Cal town where studio writers for LA go...
Cute little Central Cal town where studio writers for LA go on retreats, and throngs of tourists visit the O.G. Danish-looking town. The architecture is different than anything in CA, and there is a labyrinth of shops and restaurants to explore. So many great options peppered with wine tasting and beautiful vistas nearby. Dolce Café has amazing coffee and a unique menu of baklava, breakfasts, sandwiches and ice cream. Peasant's Feast came recommended by Michelin and went above and beyond. The Coyote Creek Inn serves as a wonderful wedding venue. But mostly, getting lost in the alleyways around town is always so much fun!
Solvang is a great stop between LA and San Luis Obispo. Two nights in perfect, three if you wanna move more slowly.

Fantastic, quaint little town in beautiful countryside.
Fantastic, quaint little town in beautiful countryside. Every single person we met in town was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The town itself is extremely pet friendly and tourists everywhere has their dogs with them.
Very big and clean room. King size bed. Pool was clean and warm and right out the sliding glass door at the rear of the room, which was really convenient and nice.
No soda machine. The check in staff was friendly and efficient.
Literally a 5 min walk to downtown Solvang.
My only real complaint is that my room and I assume the rooms that face the main road into town is EXTREMELY noisy at night and even worse early morning. No sleeping in.
I would stay again but request a room in the center court or rear of the Inn.
The location is perfect, literally steps away from almost anything in Solvang. It is pet friendly, though with a fee of $25 per pet per night (except for service animals). It was nice to have a dog bowl and treats waiting for us in our room! Also the hotel grounds are beautiful! The garden area and all the seating options are spectacular. The breakfast was also pretty good with a nice range of options. The overall aesthetics of this Danish-y hotel are nice!
We loved how well built the hotel was - no outside or neighbor noises bothering us, the rooms were spacious and the bathrooms had a his/hers sink which was great. There was everything you'd need. It was on a quiet street but still very central to Solvang. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit!
A short walk from the bustling downtown . Peaceful and very beautiful location. We used the bikes to ride down to the golf course down the hill to enjoy the sunrise . Also love the self check in process , exceptionally smooth :) room was very clean and homey . It felt more like a small studio than a hotel.
everything especially the style and sophistication of the whole hotel! more than value for money here one of the best hotels we stayed in out of the 8 we did along the pacific coast trip through the states. would go back for a holiday in this destination again loved it! just wish our stay was longer.
While Solvang is already a small town, the hotel couldn't be more central. It was so nice to park the car and visit the town on foot. Everything is nearby, shops, restaurants...
The room was very clean and I loved the white noise/ rain machine for sleep - not something we get in hotels in Europe!
Prettiest hotel in town… and v close to the main street of Solvang. Get the loft room if you can - it’s really spacious. They let us check in really early… the pool was warm, the games in the pool area fun to play. The staff were very helpful and lovely.
nice old building, well decorated. excellent location, close to everything in Solvang. parking close to the hotel is very easy. Free bottles of water available everyday, and one nice bottle of wine offered in the room. Reasonable price for the area.
The location is amazing, right downtown across the street from some of the best Solvang has to offer. I as pleased the room came with 2 bottle of water- you see that less and less. Rooms were pretty basic but clean and a great value.
The location is right "downtown" Solvang, so an easy walk to most of the shops and restaurants. The star of the breakfast was the yummy Danish pastries from Olsen's Bakery.
Exceptionally comfortable room. The bed was extremely comfortable - like, beyond any hotel I've ever stayed at before. The hotel renovations were really top notch.
Room was clean and comfortable. The location was central to the downtown area. They delivered breakfast to your room to accommodate all guests during the pandemic.
Very nice and helpful girl at the check in.
Our room was really nice decorated and clean, we felt very comfortable. Walking distance to "downtown" Solvang
