Very cute little property right in the heart of Tahoe City. Easy access and very comfortable. Wish they had some more parking but was able to find some in the lot in the back. Would stay here again!
Nestled at the base of Olympic Valley USA, this all-season mountain resort is minutes from world-famous Lake Tahoe. Olympic Valley’s best summer and winter recreational activities are only steps away....

It’s the convenience, the closeness to the ski lifts, the parking, the facilities. It has everything you need.
This Squaw Valley lodge features fireplaces and spa bathtubs in all of their apartments. Alpine Village is less than a 10 minute drive from the property and guests can enjoy ski-in/ski-out access.
It's very easy to get around. We had no problem finding parking (beginning of April) or getting reservations at restuarants. The visitor center is very helpful! Great location to get to the other little towns and to get to trailheads for hiking and snowshoeing.

It's just too busy.
It's just too busy. It's been overdeveloped to within an inch of its life. Not just Tahoe City, the whole lake. Our trip was September 23. Road works all the way round at various intervals, so driving was from hell.
Far too many "no access" "private beach" "so and so club only" signs. The private beach with our house was around 100 feet long with "no acceess" signs on a fence at either end. Even the jetty had a "access only to so and so boat club past this point" half way down it. The places you can go are inaccessibble due to traffic. As we say in England "It is knackered" Worse for me than a beach holiday in Benidorm and 10 times the price. It must have been a truely remarkable place but as with all accessible places of beauty, the Uber rich and the greedy have ruined it. Far busier even than Lake Como. We went from Tahoe to Yosemite National park, and stayed in the Valley. Nowhere near as busy! Yosemite was less expensive all round too. Probably great if you like crowds and have young kids. The water was lovely. There is a really good Safeway in Tahoe city with a good Thai restaurant opposite. (Vegan options Yay!)

Tahoe City is a lovely old mountain town with immediate access to north Lake Tahoe and nearby ski areas including Alpine Meadows and Palisades Tahoe (Previously Squaw Valley). The town is quite historic and still retains some of its historic mountain charm. Unfortunately, the town has recently been rediscovered by vacationers and now is often overrun by tourists, travelers and skiers. It has become expensive to stay here, and it is hard to find reasonably priced nice lodging and the parking and traffic are often difficult and on weekends downright impossible. On a "good" day it is a 20 min drive to Alpine Meadows or Palisades. When the traffic is bad, these trips can take one-hour plus in each direction! Even with these "warts", TC is still a wonderful place to visit and enjoy all the many wonderful things to do in and around Lake Tahoe.

Vons in Tahoe City, employees are very rude, customer service extremely poor!
Blue Agave restaurant employees were very personable, adhering to COVID guidelines. Tahoe city Rafting company very accommodating, pleasant employees. Lots of traffic on streets.
Location in Tahoe City with walking distance to lake and restaurants. Short drive to Alpine Meadows & Palisades or Transit Center to pick up TART (although we snagged last minute parking reservations). Extra parking in back of building. Call ahead if you are going to check in late so they can set up a lock box. Excellent wifi if you need to work remotely. Long desk in room for work needs. Much better condition than Best Value down the road and with bigger room. They've clearly put in effort to paint & remodel bathroom.
This home is the perfect family get away, we will definitely stay again. The view of the lake is beautiful (especially for morning coffee) and the location is central to enjoying the Tahoe City area. The neighborhood is quiet and the home was clean. We especially appreciated the fully stocked kitchen and 4 bathrooms. All beds that were used were comfortable.
The hosts were very kind and willing to go the extra mile and gave plenty of accurate and thoughtful recommendations. Very charming setup, especially during the holiday season. Well insulated and heated cottages with ample of space, good beds, pillows and nice bathrooms. Very close to Lake Tahoe (walking distance).
Exceptional location. Not only is it a short walk to all that is Tahoe City the setting makes you feel like you are in the middle of the forest. Great deck, nice kitchen, albeit small, very nice bathrooms downstairs, light and airy.... place could be an awesome property with minor changes.
The location was great. Could see a bit of the lake from the hotel lot. Near food and stores. Safeway across the street. Great for family with kids. Cute little campy rooms and environment. Decent amount of parking. Good price.
Interesting and adventurous place to stay in the Lake Tahoe area. Nicely setup with comfortable beds and a cosy lobby area. Rooms are spacious and have a nice outdoor/forest flavour, though the carpets could be a bit cleaner…
The hotel was classic and the restaurant was perfect. It was really good to walk from your room to such a great restaurant.
The breakfast was perfect. Never have seen such breakfast in US.
This property is in the prime location of Tahoe City, close to the lake, shops, and restaurants. We didn't have breakfast on site - around are plenty of breakfast restaurants.
super nice hotel! location is exceptional-right on the lake Tahoe. the staff was so nice and helpful, breakfast was nice as well. rooms are clean and very nice!
