Vallecito was a great get away!

Vallecito was a great get away! Beautiful scenery with the lake within minutes. Great restaurants in Durango and Bayfield that only took around 30 minutes to travel to. Highly recommend this area! Will definitely be returning!

Loved the small village feel and look.

Loved the small village feel and look. People were pleasant and welcoming. We brought up Off-road Side by side to do some riding. It was very frustrating that we could not use on the streets or side roads of Lake Vallecito. We would have enjoyed this village more and spent more time in the area if we were allowed to drive our CanAm on the streets. The whole area is 25mph so I am not sure why the restrictions are there. If you obey the speed limit posted then there is no safety risks associated with side by sides; especially the larger ones that are street legal elsewhere. There were some nice HOV trails on Northeast side of Lake but we had to trailer to this site versus just driving our CanAm over. It was an unnecessary inconvenience. This alone may prevent us from returning there. Remove the restrictions and I would come back there to do more riding. We drove up to SIlverton instead during day to go riding . They welcome ATV/UTV/ side by sides.
