Amazing view from the king brown room and even better view from the BBQ area. Staff were friendly. Room felt huge compared to the one we had in Tokyo. Side note is that we came at the very beginning of November before the crowds but in time to see the red autumn leaves. It was also very chilli at night even with a heater so we had to bring our toddler into our bed because we weren’t prepared for those lows.

Umeya Annex is a Japanese private home run by an oshi, or a religious teacher that guides and assists visitors on pilgrimages. The property is located next to the oshi's home that was built in 1776 and the only one existing in Kawaguchiko. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property.

We were able to experience awesome Japanese culture. The view from the balcony is spectacular. Oniisan was so helpful to our needs. He let us borrow his bikes, drove us at Arakurayama Sengen Park, and dropped us off at the bus terminal going back to Shinjuku with no extra cost. There is enough parking if you need to bring your car. Tatami is very comfortable. He even prepared it for us when we got home from dinner. Highly recommended!

The space was perfect for our large group of 15 friends visiting the Mt. Fuji area for one night. Using the lockbox to get in was convenient. The house was clean and in a great location with easy access to the lake and a lot of beautiful scenery! We took the highway bus to and from Tokyo.

Switzerland
Sayuri and her family were very welcoming. The location is very practical for visiting the pagoda by bike and the region. Her property is traditional, well apportioned and serviced and the fact she only rents to one family makes it special for a family stop. Sayuri is exceptionally kind, speaks good English (which is helpful), has recommendations that we very much appreciated and practical maps. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the region.
