I love the idea.
Location is perfect for this kind of hotel.
Breakfast was nice, maybe this should be checked a little more if they have been too long on the tray.

The room was great and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was also excellent. Location is ideal for the centre of town and the railway station, but also quiet.
Fantastic steam railway - lovely trip thorough the countryside and linked to a boat ride. Everything you would expect of a historic town with waterfront and good transport connections and modern amenities.

What a stunning and interesting town to visit and we already want to go back. So much history and the most beautiful buildings. Lots of great restaurants and all the shops you could need. Easy to charge our car and the nearby parking in a parking garage was cheap. The steak we had for dinner at Heavens Hotel was the best I had in a long time.
Hoorn has lots of green space and you can do lots on foot. Easy walk to the marina, a large park and a huge swimming area on the Hoornse Hop close to town that seems to be newly created and will start opening slowly bit by bit from July. I participated in a big event and on the cycling leg I saw a lot of the beautiful surrounding area, so we will return for a more leisurely visit in the near future.

Hoorn is a small village about 30 minutes northwest of Amsterdam. Our accommodations were located in a boat, just outside of Hoorn. A nature trail near our boat took us into town via a forested area with a good path for walkers and bikers. On Saturday morning, Hoorn has a small market, many backeries and a few cafes were open. Many cyclist going through town.

Hoorn is a charming town with a rich history and lots of old Dutch architecture and canals. There is a small boat marina, main historic square, pedestrian shopping streets, lots of lovely cafes, bars and restaurants. Its a great base for visiting Old Holland and also a good alternative to staying in Amsterdam, which is only 30 min away by train. The bus station is in front of the train station and easy to use to visit Edam, Volendam etc. Its also easy to reach Alkmaar and Zaanse Schans from Hoorn via train. From Schiphol airport is less than an hour by direct train.

What an amazing town just a short train ride from Amsterdam.
What an amazing town just a short train ride from Amsterdam. Beautiful streets to walk around and harbour front. The food was amazing and learnt there is a Dutch equivalent to Spanish Tapas. As always friendly and very helpful people to show you around. First time in Hoorn, but not the last.

Lovely old town with great center, unknown to me previously,...
Lovely old town with great center, unknown to me previously, but I will return. Has an old-world charm with modern amenities, and great architecture in centre; it is fabulously landscaped around the coast and canals to great effect. Plenty eating out and drinking choices, shopping to be had.
We liked that fact that we were staying literally in the center of the Kerkplein. The breakfast was terrific in the stylish and large restaurant. And our room was great with some fabulous stained glass outside our window.
But the best thing, by far, was the kindness and consideration shown to my wife and me when we found ourselves suddenly unwell. The young people of the 24-hour staff seem to have a genuine passion for hospitality. Their care for us during a challenging time was invaluable to us.
We received a warm welcome and had an excellent stay at El Puerto. Ria, the owner, is a very dedicated and friendly host. The room was spacious and clean and at walking distance from the sea and the city. The breakfast was very varied and generous. There was a water cooker and coffee maker in the room as well as a supply of tea and coffee. The view was nice on the port of Hoorn. We highly recommend El Puerto!
Staff very friendly and helpful . Hoorn is a beautiful place - rich in history and plenty of places to eat and explore. If shopping is your thing then their high street is a must. Anyone we came into contact with was friendly. We will definitely come again in warmer months . The hotel is right by the harbour so the views are beautiful. Car parking is secure.
We LOVED the location and our Hosts were so nice. Room and Bath extremely clean, breakfast superb. We chose 'nice and quiet', and if only visiting Hoorn it is perfect. Such a lovely home. We wish we'd have planned for 1 more day. If you have a busy Amsterdam schedule, the 1hr trip each way can be daunting.
WE chose the small breakfast and were very happy with this. Lots of coffee, fresh orange juice yummy and service very good. Location of hotel excellent. Best of all - the people who work at the boutique hotel... EVERYONE was wonderful..... so friendly and helpful Would definitely stay again. Thank you!!!!
I received a friendly welcome and staff were happy to help with any requests. The location is perfect for a lovely walk into the town centre. The surroundings are beautiful and you felt as if you were staying in genuine Hoorn and not a hotel chain.
Quiet tranquil location overlooking a small marina and lake. Large apartment style room and en suite. Very modern and comfortable and very friendly and helpful host.
Lively restaurant/bar and lakeside bathing on the doorstep.
Restaurant was excellent. Theater also very good.
Love the energy conservation of having to use keycard to access lights and therefore lights go off when leave the room as you take your key with you. Very cool!
Clean & well maintained rooms. Super nice lobby. Very friendly staff. The restaurant served delicious food.
The location is in the city of Hoorn which is really pictoresque. The parking is free which is rare!
We traveled to Hoorn by our bikes. The hotel does not have a proper bike parking. The staff asked us to park our bikes in the back yard, but the entrance was too narrow, we couldn't pass our bikes.
There was plenty of variety for breakfast and plenty to eat
Hotel is situated perfectly for walking to town center and the train station.
Rooms are clean and comfortable.
The hotel is located in a good location, a nice mixture of the old church and modern elements. The hotel restaurant is also good and we received vouchers for free drinks.
Apartment was clean and exactly like in the photos.
Location was in the center of Hoorn with nearby shops.
Owner was reachable when we had issues with the fire alarm.
The staff was marvelous, they were super kind and friendly.
The hotel is really nice and the breakfast is perfect! In addition, it is close to the center😊
conveniently located near the square in Hoorn and away enough from main street to avoid crowd and noise. Beautiful themed room and comfortable all around
