Located just a few steps from the Sassi di Matera UNESCO site, Il Belvedere boasts a furnished terrace with panoramic views of Matera. WiFi is free throughout the property. The VIEW!!! This is my 3rd visit to Matera and this is the best hotel I stayed. The staffs are so kind and helpful in every way. The rooms and bathrooms were super clean and comfy. The breakfast in the balcony with a view is just healing and relaxing. We will definitely come back here for our next visit.

Le Malve Cave Retreat Cave Retreat is located in Sasso Caveoso, the historic part of Matera. It boasts air-conditioned rooms with a town-view balcony and a buffet breakfast. Beautifuly designed space. Our host Gianvito was exceptional from the moment we arrived. He took our bags for for us and mapped out must see places. He even made our dinner reservation. Highly reccomend and we would definitely stay here again.

Set inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO site, Corte San Pietro is housed in a renovated historical building carved out of stone. It offers rooms with a private entrance and free Wi-Fi throughout. Everything was super. You can not imagine, what a fantastic experience is to be there..., it is a must to visit them. Want to go back asap!

Ideally located in the Sassi di Matera district of Matera, Cenobio Hotel & SPA Matera is set 800 metres from Convent of Sant' Agostino, 240 m from Matera Cathedral and 400 metres from MUSMA Museum. Perfect hotel! In every aspects! Big and specious room, the design of the hotel is amazing. It was the best decision to choose this cave hotel in the city of caves. The hotel offers delicious breakfast with wide range of selection. Very helpful and friendly staff. I will definitely choose this hotel again when I visit Matera again. From the hotel everything was within a few minutes walking distance.

You could get around the old city on foot to all of the popular locations but still be in place that is quite enough for a peaceful nights sleep. Gianni and Angela were wonderful hosts. Angela kept up-to-with our arrival on a heavily delayed train which got us in very late. Couldn’t wish for more!
