Located in the hills surrounding Funchal, this 18th-century mansion is set in extensive botanical gardens with 600 different plant species. All rooms have balconies overlooking the gardens. Everything. Wonderful garden, views. The staff was super helpful. Rooms are big and nice with very comfortable not soft bed. Complimentary fruits on check-in. Wanted to stay more. 10 out of 10.

Orquidea opens out on to an extra-large roof-top terrace, overlooking Funchal and the Atlantic Ocean. Our twin bedroom was very clean with plenty of storage space and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean with towels and toiletries included. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices (including wholemeal bread which is difficult to find in hotels). The location of the hotel is very central and most of the tourist attractions are within walking distance. There is a roof terrace with wonderful views over the city of Funchal. Highly recommended.

Set in a historic building of central Funchal, Monte Carlo features a large elevated terrace and roof-top pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is located only 800 metres from the Funchal Marina. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was really amazing. It felt like we were living in the 30s as the floor was creacking on a lot of spots and thats what made it even more enjoyable. The sight from out window was beautiful, the room was really big and all was clean. The best of all of this was the staff and the service they provided. They were really generous and always helpful. After 2nights every time we came back to the hotel to sleel or to realx we felt like coming home bcs of the amazing people/staff and the service they provided.
