The campsite is very quiet and in a calm forest right next to the sea. You can hear the waves breaking on the shore. My tent was spacious and provided with a comfy mattress, blankets and two pillows. There is a table and chairs for each tent. The fridge was great as you can keep your drinks cool and some provisions for breakfast etc. That said the little taverna on the campsite was great and I ate dinner there most evenings watching the sun set across Kissamos Bay. Alex and his parents were lovely hosts who couldn't do enough for guests. Kristos the summer help was also friendly and helpful. There are 3 other places to eat within walking distance of the campsite in Nopigia. All were good. The location is great because with a car you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the campsite but every day explore the incredible beaches. My favourite was Kedrodasos but Falassarna is also very beautiful if more developed.I did go on a boat trip to Balos beach and Gramvousa. They are stunning but crowded with tourists. Also worth visiting is Elafonisi with its pink sand. To get to most of these places you will need to drive through the mountains. This might not be for everyone as the driving is quite challenging. I also went on a one-day trip to Knossos and Heraklion. This was also a great opportunity to see the Minoan palace but there are crowds of people there. Both the boat trip and the bus trip to Knossos were organised through Balos Travel agent who have an office on the main street in Kissamos.

Everything! Beautiful location on the beach, shaded campsite, wonderful family owners, warm and inviting atmosphere. The Taverna food is incredible.

the best experience and place in CRETE! The guys are so lovely, very helpful and kind! They recreate a magic atmosphere with a Van Tend than you cannot find anywhere else in the world!
