Beautiful , cozy, and comfortable, very quiet .Berna is an excellent host..she speaks a little English... much much better than I speak Spanish .. great place to stay for a night or a few days. Her casa is far enough away from the city center to have the feeling you're in the countryside but close enough to get there quickly by taxi .

We liked every moment spending on this finca , walking between cacao and coffe plantations, hiking to river and waterfall, enjoying the copious breakfast. The owner, Alfonso is an exceptional helpfully host and a man with a big heart .We stayed three nights and truly regret we could nt remain more.

Located in Cartago and only 11 km from Jardin Botanico Lankester, Dreams Lodge Orosi provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. We booked this lodge for the last 4 nights of our stay in Costarica, only as a place to sleep- as we planned to spend whole days out on excursions. We were actually sorry that we could not spend more time in the lodge itself. It has some lovely outdoor space where you can sit and relax. It also has a common kitchen which is very well equipped, so you can cook your meals there if you wish. There is also a swimming pool, but we did not use it as the weather was quite cold. Room was super clean and comfortable. We loved the local cat which was very friendly and liked to spend her time in the lodge :-) What makes absolute highlight of this lodge, is Ms. Jessica, who provided excellent service to us during our entire stay. She was always so nice and did lot more for us, than she had to! She also speaks very good English so we had no problems with communication. First morning, we ate breakfast in the lodge - the local Gallo Pinto. It was the best breakfast we had in the entire Costarica! Big portion and perfectly cooked and flavoured. You will love it! And the breakfast outdoor seating is very nice. For the rest of our mornings, we were actually leaving very early (around 5 am), and Jessica was so nice that she always prepared for us breakfast and left it in the fridge). If you have rented car, you can park it in front. You can also arrive by public bus (like we did), it is only around 5-10 minutes walk from the bus station. Just be careful, there is no signage with the hotel name, from the street it lookes like someone’s house. If you are at the entrance to the cemetery, you are already too far :-) search for black metal staircase - that is your place.

El mochilero, a property with a garden and a terrace, is set in Cartago, 4.4 km from Jardin Botanico Lankester, 16 km from Irazú Volcano, as well as 1.8 km from Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels. Randall was great, everything went very smoothly. The place is nice and clean, the room was big and spacy, the bed was super comfy. There is fully equipped kitchen for common use, the location is about 15 minutes walking from the center which is great, and there is a supermarket just across the road in case you feel like staying in and cooking. And of course the price is amazing!

Situata a Orosí, la Montaña Linda Guest House Orosi offre un giardino, un salone e una cucina in comune. Avrete gratuitamente a disposizione la connessione WiFi e il parcheggio recintato. Even though there is a shared kitchen and common space, it felt private and none of us needed to use the kitchen at the same time. People were respectful of our items in the refrigerator and cleaned up after themselves. I was surprised I slept so well, because I usually don’t on vacation.

The Cozy Cactus House Cartago Centro English Spoke, a property with a garden, is set in Cartago, 5.9 km from Jardin Botanico Lankester, 15 km from Ujarras Ruins, as well as 25 km from La Sabana... Great and reasonably priced location to stay overnight on the way to Irazú Volcano. We liked walking proximity to Cartago city center, kitchen availability, the garage to safely park the car, private bathroom. Mauricio and his brother were very hospitable having provided information about places of interest and catering nearby, addressing our needs, serving simple breakfast, sharing water bottles and tea. Thanks a lot to Mauricio who informed me of a need to reserve the Volcano area entrance tickets online otherwise we'd have to do it at the top of the mountain with limited Internet connection potentially facing tickets have been sold out.

Offering garden views, Casa de Cristal-Retiros Esenciales Costa Rica is an accommodation located in Cartago, 16 km from Jardin Botanico Lankester and 27 km from Irazú Volcano. An amazing wide view on the mountains. The hosts were so warm and welcoming, feels like at home. If you are interested in herbs and medicinal plants they can give a tour in alabuela's garden. The breakfast we had was the best during our month trip in costa rica. Perfect stay for driving through or for a longer period of complete relaxation. At a driving distance from the Irazu volcan and national park for hiking. Beautiful!
